Cant find im009 anywherem do you have a link for them?

    Agreed 100%, i like X5s size and build quality, however when compared to identically priced XE800 they only win on bass quantity. Imaging and soundstage is very much their achilles heel imho. 

has anyone had a chance to compare them with Altone 200? Would be interested to know how they stack up.

maybe my xe800 is fake then, as they look exactly like those sub 66 CNY ones. Anyone with genuine ones know how to tell them apart? Mine came with that small paper box and some accessories for CNY 388 from Taobao. 

I too have received my xe800 this week and have been using them a fair bit over last few days. must say though, after having a non faulty pair of altones xe800 sound a little outclassed in pretty much everything - sub bass, quantity of bass, clarity of mids, timbre and highs. on top of that...

yep, its definitely worth mentioning that my warranty is now probably void so I wouldn't recommend anyone doing it for themselves. The main reason I had a crack at doing it myself is because I'm off on a 2 week holiday tomorrow and really wanted to take altones with me and could not be bothered...

I think i may have found the fix for low bass / low volume on altone 200s. My new pair today started exhibiting the low bass / low volume issue on the right channel, albeit intermittently. Upon closer inspection I noticed that pulling back on the strain relief I would get sound back to get loud...

I will echo what others have said that burn in further opens up the sound on these, listening the song bellow with Altones really sends shivers down my spine:

I had the exact same issue, t-peos swapped my unit it and the new one sounds significantly richer in the lower end as well as being marginally louder than the previous pair.

Just received my replacement pair (the first lot had less bass on the right channel, dynamic driver issue i suspect) and I am very pleased with them. Sound is significantly fuller when both channels match so I can finally appreciate the awesomeness of Altones. These have to be the richest...

yep, just confirmed with driver matching test from audiocheck.net, - bass is deeper and punchier in the left one, whereas its pretty much the same on my ax35 and tenores. oh well, hopefully return turnaround wont take too long. 

unfortunately doesnt seem to be, if i switch sides the issue follows to the other ear. also switching tips does not help either :(

Just received mine, unfortunately my right earpiece sounds quieter and less bassy than the left :(. Anyone know if burn-in could somehow solve this?
