    I noticed it too through my momentum, he400 and cowon ek2. But I gave it  a second listen if it is me only observing the changes as there are no posts claiming the changes. So the sound is changed once again. How come they do this through firmware I wonder!!

    Most reviews here tend towards technical factor like bass tightness, both ends extensions, treble harshness, soundstage depth, comparing the sound to neutral sound signature, ergonomics, microphonics, build qulaity, cable quality, housing, the height and width of soundstage, separation, etc.,.  ...

    I think aimp3 has boosted bass and treble relative with foobar, well, atleast to my ears 'coz when i switch from foobar to aimp3, the treble emphasize is very apparent for me. may be you like that!

    my setup - fiio x3+ hifiman he400 different is apparent... pink floyd's song is a bit difficult for me to say  as it is very well recorded one for me in compressed songs', bass is prominent, less clarity and less headroom hifi has more clarity with more headroom they made this to be apparent...
