The Official Sony TA-ZH1ES Hi-Res Headphone Amplifier (Live From IFA 2016)
How do these match up with the HD 800S? I'm looking at these and the Sennheiser HDV 820.- Maliken

Sony Z1R....listening impressions only
I purchased the Sennheiser HD 800S some time ago and while I enjoy them very much, I do miss the warmth of my Z7s at times. So, if there's anyone here that owns both the Z7 and Z1R how much of an improvement of sound quality could I expect? I'd hate to blow $2k just to find out that the Z7s...- Maliken

I purchased my pair about two months ago, and I don't have the rattle problem. I could just be lucky of course.- Maliken

Not a wonderful shot, but here's my Philips Fidelio X1 on them. I think they look quite good with larger headphones. -
Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R
I just purchased a pair of these, it's still early to tell but I think my Beyerdynamic T-50p sounds a bit better, but the MDR-1r is so ridiculously comfortable, and they look amazing. Definitely a pair of headphones I'd be proud to wear outside.- Maliken

Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R
I'm thinking about buying these to replace my Beyerdynamic T-50p as my 'on the go' headphones. I still can't decide if I want the silver or black version.- Maliken

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
It's such a shame there are no replacable pads, especially since they're such dust magnets. If I clean the pads, it's going to be littered with dust the following day again.- Maliken

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
I'd never wear these headphones outside for all the reasons you mentioned, but they're also incredibly large and would attract a lot of attention. The stock cable is also far too long. Other than that, I do think the X1 isolates a -lot- more than my HD 598, I can barely hear my surroundings on...- Maliken

Review and discussions - Audioengine D1 24/96 USB and Optical DAC/amp for laptops and computers
How are you enjoying the D1 so far? IME it gave the HD 598 a more pronounced bass, but somehow I felt like the soundstage did become a bit more narrow. It was quite a significant upgrade from my Xonar DG, it made the sound more 'alive'. The D1 also seems to pair very well with my Fidelio X1.- Maliken

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
Quote: I am enjoying the sound signature of the Fidelio X1 a lot more, I'm not a basshead by any means, but the HD 598 was just too light on the lower end for me. The Fidelio X1 has just the right amount to my ears, the lower end is more comparable with the Beyerdynamic T-50p I have, but...- Maliken

Sennheiser HD598 for gaming?
Out of all the headphones I have tried, the HD 598 is probably the best choice for competitive gaming. It does have some mid bass, but overall the lower end is a bit too light for my taste. I can't give an opinion about my Fidelio X1 yet, since I just purchased them today, but already I find the...- Maliken

Looking to upgrade from HD 598
I'm currently looking for an upgrade from my Sennheiser HD 598's. I love them, especially the midrange, but the low end isn't quite as satisfying to me. I'd like to pair these headphones with my Audioengine D1 DAC/Amp. Budget is around 300 EUR, and here's what I'm looking for: 1)...- Maliken

Audio Engine D1 or keep my asus xonar essence stx
I received my AudioEngine D1 just today, and already I can hear quite a noticeable difference to the Asus Xonar DG I used before, especially with my AudioEngine A5+ speakers where the lower end has tightened up considerably, where it could be quite muddy with the Xonar DG.- Maliken

Senn HD598 vs DT770 for gaming/music. Need help deciding.
I own a pair of Sennheiser HD 598's, and I'm quite happy with them for my gaming use. I find them to be incredibly comfortable, despite having large ears, I can effortlessly wear these for hours upon hours. One concern for you might be the bass, even though it's quite good, it's a bit on the...- Maliken

beyerdynamic t50p
I purchased my pair of Beyerdynamic T-50p's around the Christmas period, these are one of the newer models that come with the improved earpads that are also present on the DT 1350's. I'm incredibly happy with my purchase so far, I'm still in the process of burning them in, but already I find...- Maliken
