I believe it! I did the same thing to my ATH M-50 at one point, velour really is the best. Thanks for the help, maybe I'll post some updates once I try the same thing

  I noticed you managed to get black vegan pads, these aren't available on the accessories section of Audeze's website (they are only in brown). I was wondering if you did anything special to get these, or if they are no longer offering them. Thanks!

Just got to demo these two the other day, and for contemporary music the LCD-X was the clear winner. But the soundstage on the HD800 was absolutely gorgeous!

I was interested in using a custom cable for the vmodas because the stock is too long for my liking. Is the end on the longer cable seen here (http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/7637/img5031zk5.jpg) too big to fit in the jack of the m-100? It's a Bluejeans cable, model MSA-1. I fear it might be...

I caved and decided to buy a Matrix M-Stage Amp because I heard from other threads that it did indeed mute the output when the headphones were plugged in. There seemed to be some disagreement, does anyone have this amp and can tell me if it functions this way?
