Is my reciever's phono stage broken?
Ok, I've tried plugging in both my receiver and turntable through an extension cable with the 3rd prong removed. I'm not totally sure what I should be looking for, but with the ground wire attached to the receiver I still hear a hum in both scenarios.- Thehebrewhammer

Is my reciever's phono stage broken?
Hi Erik, my receiver has a subsonic filter, which I have enabled. I still experience a great deal of speaker fluttering with it enabled. I actually just purchased the turntable off craigslist a few weeks ago, so I've sent the previous owner a message asking about whether or not he cleaned the...- Thehebrewhammer

Is my reciever's phono stage broken?
Hi everyone, I've recently gone on a stereo upgrading spree, and while my set up sounds fantastic to my ears, I'm having some problems with (I think) my reciever. My current set-up: Turntable: Thorens TD-160 with TP-16 MKI arm and Ortofon OM20 Cartridge DAC: Edirol UA-1EX Receiver...- Thehebrewhammer

Dual CS 530 Turntable - cartridge?
Thanks for the suggestion. The ortofon OM-5E, OM-10 and OM-20 both seem like good choices from what I've read, but I was wondering if the Shure m97xE would be low mass enough ... it is 6.6 grams as opposed to the 5g ortofons...- Thehebrewhammer

Dual CS 530 Turntable - cartridge?
Hi, I need a new cartridge for my Dual CS 530. It has a ULM tonearm if that helps. I have no idea what sort of cartridge would be best... Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.- Thehebrewhammer

PX200 - recable or replace?
Hi I've got a pair of PX200s that I've had for just over a year. About a week ago, the left side of the headphone stopped working. However, if the cable is held at certain angles, the headphone's left side does work, so it seems that a cable replacement will fix this. I have very little...- Thehebrewhammer

Good headphones for filming?
I'm looking for a cheap closed pair of headphones that would be useful for monitoring audio on the set of a film. They would need to be easily powered by my Panasonic PVGS70 camera (which is just a small camcorder). Has anyone had any luck with the Sennheiser PX200s for this, or the Sennheiser...- Thehebrewhammer

Px200s -> e2cs.. a worthy upgrade?
Hi I have a pair of px200s, and I was wondering how significant the difference in sound quality between them and the e2cs is. Would it be a worthwhile upgrade, or should I save up for the er-6s, e3cs, or anything else around the 100 dollar price range?- Thehebrewhammer

Comfortable Portable Headphones
Also what type of sound you enjoy. For example... if you're a bass fiend I'd recommend the Koss Portapros over the PX100s or 200s.- Thehebrewhammer

PX200/PXC250
I live in Toronto, and I bought my PX200s for 60 bucks Canadian (shipped) from eBay. Most of the canadian stores I checked charged 100 bucks (radioshack charged 99.99 as did bay bloor radio). If you want, I can recommend an eBay seller who carries them with excellent service.- Thehebrewhammer
