    Rank the IEM's you've heard

Yeah, I was surprised by both on first listen. I EQ and with EQ the Quintet sounds amazing to me. The tuning of the No. 3 feels dated nowadays, but it still holds that old school bass charm. I haven't tried the OH10 but I've heard great things about it.

    Rank the IEM's you've heard

Due to the massive sale on the AKG N5005 I thought I would update my rankings. To reiterate, I am a bit of a basshead an I need bass to enjoy my music, but I also need to full plate of music. 1. Kiwi Ears Quintet - Nice neutralish sound signature with a good amount of bass, I was pleasantly...

    AKG's New Flagship IEM - N5005

Just bought these for $159. My #1 IEM spot was the Kiwi Ears Quintet and after listening to these, they are still my #1 IEM but these are good. At $159 I was hoping to score a cheap upgrade to the Quintet, and although there are some aspects that may feel like an upgrade, these are more of a...

I tried the Divinus Velvets, they were ok as well, oddly enough these cheap TRNs sound better to me.

    The Kiwi ears Quintet Thread:

Just recieved my Quintets 2 days ago and have been enjoying them quite a bit. I listen to a wide variety of music and a good portion of it is Hip-Hop and R&B. I can honestly say that I was pretty impressed how well they handle most of that catalog. Although it's not a basshead IEM, there is...

Head-Fi Basshead IEM thread (lists page 1)

I love a bassy set, I think bass is super important to all music, and it makes it a lot more fun to listen to most music. That being said, I am really enjoying the bass on the Tangzu Fudu. It thumps really good and the rumble is pretty satisfying. As a "mature basshead" I recomend these to...

    Rank the IEM's you've heard

I am a "mature basshead" if that's a thing...lol. I have love a meaty bottom end but lately I need a little up top to even things out and I am appreciating resolution and detail more these days. With that said here is my current top 5 that I own. 1. Tangzu FUDU - Nice warm presentation, but...

    The discovery thread!

Thanks...I think I will throw a balanced cable on the DB2 and start listening to it a little more...my initial listen was a good one but it just didn't move to the front of my rotation. I will definitely give them a fair chance to at least get a seat on the front row...lol.

    The discovery thread!

That totally makes sense. I also have the DB2, I haven't given them a lot of ear time, but my initial impression was "meh". It's not bad but nothing stood out, more juice just made them louder to me...They are a good "kick around" IEM though. The Sonus sits in my #3 spot behind the FUDU and...

    Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

The graininess is definitely a nitpick, I generally like the treble, but when I go from my FUDU to the May I notice it a bit, even going from the Sonus back to the May I notice it. If I stop thinking about it it goes away. I get that the cable makes them unique, but I believe they would not...

    The discovery thread!

That is spot on about the FUDU. When I first received my set, I hooked them up to a USB dongle, and although I still enjoyed them, they didn't "WOW" me. But once I got a BTR15 and a 4.4mm cable, these things went to the next level. The bass got tighter and the treble seems to have more...

    Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

I have the May and overall I think they are a great IEM, but I feel that they should release them without the cable. Although I thought they sounded really good on the cable, they sound a LOT better on a more power DAC. The bass and mids are amazing, and the treble is pretty good. My only...

I just received these headphones. I bought them because I stumble on a YouTube video giving them praise and for the price I was like "why not". I really enjoy listening to these headphones. I would describe them as warm but still balanced with a slight bump in the bass. I don't think these...

Based on what you said you want, I'd pick the TFZ T2. The T2 is detailed and fun sounding. They are my daily drivers and I use them on the subway and they isolate well.

I own the T3 and **** as well and I think the T3 is a step up from the ****, not to say the **** is bad, but the T3 is better.

I've heard nothing but good things about the KZ ZS10 pro's, I'm certain you will like them. With many of these Chinese products, sometimes you have to just be patient. I'm not sure if you are in the US but I always check Amazon before I buy, I will pay a few more dollars for quicker delivery...

Yes, the .75mm is the length of the pins. You can use either .75mm or .78mm but the .78mm might not be flush on your KZ. They are pretty much compatible with other brands too.

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

Cables are kinda personal preference, but for the KS10 pro try to find a .75mm 2 pin, I believe the .78 will stick out a little. From there it's based on what you want. Most cables in the budget range are copper or silver plated copper. I've heard very little difference between the two, maybe...

Soundwise I think you'll like the T3, I have a pair and they sound great, very clear and neutral sounding. But I'm not sure how well they will stay in while mountain biking, they are a tad heavy and may bounce a lot. I use TRN IM1 while biking and they stay put and are a lot lighter, the issue...

They actually do trigger the High Impedance DAC mode but to me the mids sound thick and congested on the phone, the mids sound fine on my laptop or my Shanling M2s. I have to turn them almost all the way up to get them to sound decent on the v40, maybe there is enough power, but only enough...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

The Quad DAC on the v20 is similar to the one in the v40 which I have and it struggles to make the **** sound good. I wouldn't suggest the **** for use with a phone. My TRN IM1 came with a in line mic with controls and the cable isn't bad at all. For a daily driver, I'd pick the IM1, it fits...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

With what you said about the somewhat V shape and your occasional synth... you'll probably want decent bass, I would suggest either the TRN IM1 or the TFZ T2. I have both plus the V80 and the T3 and the TFZ T2 and IM1 are better all-arounders. The V80 can get harsh in the treble at times and...
