Violectric HPA V550 - Blue's Brother and the successor to the V281

V590² was born out of necessity when the AKM factory burned down.

Violectric HPA V281 - Vorsprung durch Balanced (September 2023 Update: Limited Reissue Edition up for preorder!)

During the High End Show quite a few people tried to choose between both but it was never decisive and they couldn't make a decision. Best would be finding a place which has both and then listen for yourself. The v281 is more colorful, the V550 departs towards a more neutral sound but stops...

Yes, I'd pick any JAR800v3 (non S) over it.

    The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread

I have posted a few ones here and there. Got limited time right now. Might drop a review here on head-fi sometime to coverall the curiousity. All in all absolutely worth it if you love the original product and seek the perfection of it rather than a transformation into something else. Projects...

Impressions | aune AR5000 Full-Size Open Headphones with MLD Driver

Yes, needs a bit more subbass, was rather lean down low. A bit of hardness in the upper mid region but the High End isn't very reliable for the latter. Other than that very promising. Nice tone overall.

Impressions | aune AR5000 Full-Size Open Headphones with MLD Driver

Loved the AR5000 on the High End Show in Munich. Very refreshing to see such a well balanced package for a low price.

Violectric HPA V281 - Vorsprung durch Balanced (September 2023 Update: Limited Reissue Edition up for preorder!)

It will always be a polarizing look. Many like it the way it is though, the market will decide in the end anyway. Definitely isn't finished though, so finer changes are a given.

Just like the v340, so inbetween v222 and v550 in sound.

    Violectric V222 and V202

Well, the 324 definitely steals the 340's show, so you can figure out the rest.

    Violectric V222 and V202

V1XX series mark the entry level, expanding the overall portfolio and filling gaps, e.g. no more gaps between LP amps and the V202.

    Violectric V222 and V202

V322/V324 are V3 series amps. More features, inputs, parts more power. V222 is a V2 series amp. That's all.

    Violectric V222 and V202

New DAC designs, ideas need manpower. Digital expertise is sought after in all other businesses too and they are way way bigger than audio could ever be, so people flock there naturally, especially in this economy. We are in special times now. Some things just need more patience. DACs will...

    Violectric V222 and V202

The context is important. As they do Lake People, Violectric and Niimbus new product releases are naturally spread among these, way more between the former two of course and some of that stuff isn't of any interest to the vast majority here like monitor controllers, phono pre, mic pre etc The...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

Can you take some pictures of your pads and cables? Jotunheim isn't the last word in timbre and can enhance steeliness slightly but the headphone and pad combination is most important right now.

Buy the Sennheiser HD800S now or save up for the HE1000SE? (Mostly Gaming)

HD 800 needs some good swing at kickbass levels since the impedance almost reaches 640 Ohm. It won't have the HE1000SE levels of bass power and has a rolloff somewhere at probably 32hz but it has a great quality to it and counters with wider staging and generally more grit to the sound. HE1000SE...
