    Hifiman HE6-SE

The only top end Senns I have are the hd600 atm. So.. in comparison, the Senns still hold their own believe it or not. I still own these but not the HD800 anymore for a reason. They're perfect for what they do. However... In regards to everything SQ wise... the Hifiman's do it better on a...

    Hifiman HE6-SE

Had these for a few weeks now.. it's crazy how quickly you adapt to a high end sound these days... as if it's 'the norm' They simply sound fantastic. Any genre of music. Great for classical surprisingly. The soundstage seems to grow if the music calls for it. I've tried listening a few times...

    HifiMan HE6 V2 Adorama

It's weird, I have recently imagined what an He6 would sound like with my Ananda's soundstage and I suspected the Susvara would be this. Obviously I have no idea, but your description is not too far from my thoughts. Hmm.. the Susvara is a pipe dream for me. Congrats on owning it ! And thank...

    HifiMan HE6 V2 Adorama

OG my friend. I had been listening non-stop for a week with the HE6SEv2 and then got a shock when I went back to my favourite hp. Now that the dust has settled and I'm going back and forth more,,, I still love the Ananda. It's perfect for my taste. But ! It simply doesn't have the 'life-like'...

    HifiMan HE6 V2 Adorama

Thanks for that :) I've just put those exact settings in and it's now better. I only use an eq when it's essential, and so now that's a lot less deviation than a full shelf. Great stuff 👍

    HifiMan HE6 V2 Adorama

New owner, had these for a week now and loving them. I'm powering out of the Topping A30pro and medium gain at 12 O'clock is loud enough for my ears. Bass is fantastic. Mids are sweet. Timbre is the best I've heard. Period. Treble needs a high-shelf filter for my tastes. That 4k rise is too...

    Hifiman Ananda

Great stuff, here's a big chunk from the description of my cable from the advert on ebay. It's copper with silver soldering

    Hifiman Ananda

New cable courtesy of Customcans. I've bought from them before and they are very good quality. Any difference in sound?? Erm yes! 😬 I hear less glare in the higher treble and a gentler, free-er sound all round compared to my cheap silver plated number prior. Snake oil maybe. But I trust my...

    Hifiman Ananda

For me the soundstage size changes with different sources. It is naturally tall because of the design, but it can go very wide depending on what it's plugged into. I think because of the overall size of the soundstage some get the impression that it is narrow simply because of the vertical image...

    Hifiman Ananda

Finally settled on this set up for my Ananda's. I've tested 4 different combinations over the last few weeks (Amazon are sick of me ☺),,, but I'm keeping these. 1st off the dac - SMSL SU-9: This is a very entertaining dac with a big warm sound. Very deep stage and smooth treble. The timbre is...

    Hifiman Ananda

Tried a couple dac/amp combos from the China market over the last week, specifically for a bedside setup and for the Ananda. Topping EX5 and Loxjie D30. The Topping is better on paper, considerably more powerful with twin dac chips where as the Loxjie has one dac chip and relevatory low power...

    Hifiman Ananda

These are just sooo good with electronic/ambient music. Probs the best I've heard. The soundstage is pretty huge, but it never sounds unnaturally stretched. Very cohesive. The mid bass is spot on for my tastes for this music genre, again it's not too much, just gives a few extra ounces of...

    Hifiman Ananda

Had these for a week now and I'm having a great time :D I've owned the HE500, Sundara, Edition X v2, HE400i but only currently have the 400se. So I only have the 400se on hand to directly compare. I'm keeping both. But this is because the he400se are that good. Madness considering the price...

    Hifiman HE400se

Getting back into headfi after a 3 year hiatus. Don't ask... 😄 Anyhoo, I had to start from scratch again. So I've been living with the trusty hd600 over the last year. Fancied a change and a return to planet planar so I checked out what was new. I used to own the HEX V2 and thought they were...

    Grado Fan Club!

"Totally agree. I call them my musical HD800. They have the detail retrieval of the HD800 without sounding clinical." And they don't have any unnecessary peaks like the HD800 :) Very natural inviting sound. Much softer than any other Grado that I've heard. Defo keepers for me. :gs1000smile:

    Grado Fan Club!

Some of you may recall my recent ramblings regarding the 325e since I have recently jumped back upon the Grado Train. Still can't rate them highly enough :) But I have recently purchased another Grado that I've always wanted to hear. Initial impressions were hmmm... Yes they have a much bigger...

    Grado Fan Club!

So, this is the first time I've felt the need to buy a second pair of any headphone whilst already owning it .... And I've been in this hobby a long time. Been that impressed with the SR325e I've bought a spare hahahaha. Mad? Yes - I'm a head-fier :D All about the matching though... SR325 +...

    Grado Fan Club!

Just a quick follow up from my initial SR325e impressions. Spent nearly a week with them now and plugged into my NAD 3020 vintage they are a match made in heaven :) The NAD is a great sounding amp but does slightly roll off the top treble. Maybe the 325 just needs a slight shave of edge taken...

    Hifiman Sundara or Sennheiser HD700?

I've owned both. Got along with the HD700 for quite a long time - I think its a good HP but wasn't worth the original asking price. I owned the Sundara for one weekend only - My ears were too sensitive to the upper mids lower treble. Both are bright at the top: The Senn's have a sucked out...

    Grado Fan Club!

I always try to have a Grado in the stable. No other headphone does what they do. No other headphone makes instruments sound so tangible - the airflow and openness is unique. Anyhooo; One Grado that I've always wanted to try and never quite got round to is the SR325. I kind of missed it out...

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

Haven't heard the the 560 my friend. The HE400i is rolled off as much as the HD650, but they have a a peak - and its a biggy :) What you have to understand about FR (and this is only IME) FR charts mean absolutely nothing compared to your ears response. Can't say it any clearer than that :)

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

I also just want to add. Again.. :D I think the Sundara are a marvel of modern technology - they are arguably much more advanced than the Senn HD650/600 for example. (which I still feel should be their competitors) The Sundara are hifiman's entry level audiophile headphone. And I described...

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

No mods.. Putting the HD800 on after a day with the Hifimans, they sounded veiled to begin with. I do realise you have to have time to get accustomed again, so that is taken into consideration. Yes its weird, unless I've been sent an extra bright pair? Either way, the treble got the better of...

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

So second day with these and unfortunately... The brightness is starting to annoy me :( This is such a shame as I truly think these are a remarkable headphone. Everyone has their own individual tolerances in regards to treble. These are just above mine. Otherwise they would have been keepers. I...
