Just joined the D-777 club....
Well, after a much maligned sale and a three month wait, my d-777 finally arrived at my front steps this evening. Let me just say that having to wait for so long for something really kills any sort of giddiness a new toy can bring. When I unwrapped the package however, I was amazed. The d-777...- Pat

HELP. Problem with seller.
I've bought and sold a few items successfully over the internet during the past year or so. A while back I paid for a Sony D-777 from a fellow Head-Fier, Timidoverclocker. It was discussed in this thread. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showth...&threadid=4331 It's been two months and the...- Pat

ER6, one week later
Well, I've had the ER6 for a week now. The honeymoon period is over, so it's time to make some clear headed comments. I know this will sound hackneyed, but for the price, the ER6 are fantastic. I prefer to stay ampless on when I'm on the go for portability sake. I don't like having to lug...- Pat

Sony D-777 batteries
I know the D-777 is supposed to use the NH-9WM gumsticks, but does anyone know if it can use NH-14WM as well? I can't find the NH-9WM's anywhere. I tried to email Sony, but they just gave me this rather half-assed one-line reply: "We can only recommend that the NH-9WM be used with the D-777"- Pat

My ER6 arrived!!
I wish I had a camera. I have yet to listen to them, but they seem like portable phones to me. The wires are thin and uneven. The wire leading up to the split is ~80 cm, while the wire to the left channel is ~20 cm and the one to the right is ~45 cm. The ear pieces are clear and coverec...- Pat

Sony D-ej1000 or Panasonic sl-ct790?
I got a cousin coming in from Hong Kong for Christmas. At about $125 USD, he'll be able to get me those brand spankin new PCDPs from Sony and Panasonic that look like frisbees... the Sony D-ej1000 and Panasonic sl-ct790. You know, the ones that look like this... It's doubtful either...- Pat

B&W 303
Anyone had a chance to give these beauties a listen? Supposedy they're quite a bit better than the DM302 and incorporates more qualities from the Nautilus line. I'm thinking of getting a cheap integrated amp like the Cambridge A500 and hook them up to some relatively cheap bookshelf speakers...- Pat

Computer rig Part 2: ATP3 review
Well, I went with Ian and Neruda's suggestion to get the Altec Lansing ATP3 multimedia speakers. Perhaps I've been spoiled by my headphone setup, but I wasn't incredibly impressed with the ATP3s. First off, they look a lot cooler in pictures than they do in real life. They're also quite...- Pat

Going back to mp3s for convenience sake...
So what's the best encoder? Last time I listened to mp3s was over a year ago. Back then I used CDex because it was a great little prog in its early stages that was fast, simple and effective. Personally I hate all that extranneous crap. What I want is a plain, simple, encoder. Skins, fancy...- Pat

Computer rig
As much as I enjoying listening to my senn 580s (w/ D500 and xcanv2 ) in a quiet little corner, I'm in front of my computer quite often. After shelling out a grand for my new Gigahertz setup, I'm in line to upgrade my SBLive! MP3+ and Cambridge Soundworks speakers from my old setup. I was...- Pat
