How long its been since I've come on here. Man, its been a while. Things haven't changed much. Also, Game of Thrones. Awesome book, but sometimes the timeline is confusing.- G-man

College students: how do you study?
I tend to read the material and try and understand it (obviously, this only applies to certain subjects). Then, if i have never even looked at the stuff before, i sometimes read, then write it down (in really bad handwriting, and just the main points). Also, i tend to do as many past papers...- G-man

I didn't expect this... something good from Bose!
Bose is most famous for the fact that their speakers are so small. They then built up on that to be seen as a good sound quality company.- G-man

Oxford, England
Wow, that's a lot of studying. What subject area are you going to read? And what college? And its a good choice that you chose Oxford over cambridge (the latter is the evil village in Hot Fuzz). Biking is definately better in Oxford than most other forms of transport, so as long as you are...- G-man

Oxford, England
The accommodation should be dependent on you college. Many provide it for a masters (which is what I am presuming you are going there for). If they don't, ask the college for any details about external accommodation, because I am sure they are well versed in the matter. Plus, nobody does...- G-man

Final college decision...(help)
From what i have read here, the best choice would appear to be SUNY Binghamton if you can keep the workload. If the 5 year programs are hard, and the university/course is known to be better/harder then employers will know about it, and will appreciate it. On the other hand, you will be stuck...- G-man

Can you read and listen to music at the same time
As said before, yes I can hear music while reading, but not "listen" to it. It doesn't register as music. I normally wouldn't want to listen to music at the same time as reading, especially if its a theoretical book (i.e., non fiction or a "hard" novel). Still, sometimes i chose to listen to...- G-man

How to survive a day without sleep? tips pls
Lucky for you, this is my speciality. Take a one hour nap. Drink Loads of water. Try and limit caffeine. If you are sitting down all the time (I presume you are), then every half an hour do a few squats and/or push ups to get the blood flowing, really helps. DO NOT GET DISTRACTED (get...- G-man

What should I check when buying used cans?
obviously listen to music you are very familiar with, but it doesnt hurt to have music that is overly bassy, or has a lot of treble, just to check how it is in those areas. Also, take your own source, and another pair of similar (if possible) cans to have an on spot comparison. That will not...- G-man

It's All GREEK to Me (As in Service Org., Fraternities, Sororities, Secret Societies, etc.)
I never understood the point of the whole fraternities thing. The universities, any of their founders, or almost anything to do with them is not of Greek origin. Anyone care to explain? And as for any societies, in UK we don't really have the whole "frat" thing going on. Rather, we have...- G-man

Dorm room robbery!
Nice ending indeed. And i agree with apatN, its the whole "gang" idea that makes them so intimidating. Its often best to leave things be, but there is a limit, and stealing goes way beyond that.- G-man

My Amp is an explosive..really?
Couple of things, the security in delhi is not likely to be tighter than that of mumbai. Still, it would be a bad idea to take the amp along in your carry on luggage. Just put in your checked in bag and you will be fine.- G-man
