Been away for a while but need a replacement for my A161 now
I have had a nice rotation consisting of NUForce 600, Soundmagic E10, and Meelec A161 that I used depending on my mood and what I was listening to. The E10 were stolen a while back and I grabbed a pair of Philips she3290 and then hje125 to fill the gap. Both were good but the cables drive me...- idvsego

Going to buy new head/ear phones
Quote: music taste doesn't always equate to a sound signature preference. I like my blues to have a decent amount of bass to it. those string instruments benefit from a lot of tone IMO. plus you can EQ bass out a lot easier than in from my experience. He said he had a cx300 and liked...- idvsego

fuze + controls are annoying but it is somewhat overstated. I only use mine in "shuffle all" mode to circumvent this issue. But I only use it at the pool and gym.- idvsego

The Portable BASS kings..The Pioneer HDJ500 vs AKG 518 LE vs The first look at the new AT WS55 Solid Bass
Quote: this almost entirely depends on the size and shape of your ears. Some it will fit great, some will have issues. Once I stuffed the pads I can get better comfort. I put some ethernet cable between the pad and the cup to put a little more distance between the driver and my ear. if...- idvsego

The Portable BASS kings..The Pioneer HDJ500 vs AKG 518 LE vs The first look at the new AT WS55 Solid Bass
I have both. I like the sound of the WS55 much better but I wasnt a big fan of the HTF-600. I don't think the bass is in the same class at all. I have to say the panny is more comfortable though. I don't have an issue with the WS55 really, but they are noticeable on your ears.- idvsego

The Portable BASS kings..The Pioneer HDJ500 vs AKG 518 LE vs The first look at the new AT WS55 Solid Bass
anybody put bigger pads on the ws55? I wish they were just a little bit bigger. I stuffed some ethernet cabling underneath to put a little space between my ear and the driver and that helps some bu these would be ab it more comfy with slightly larger pads.- idvsego

Quote: I think the e10 is a fine all around capable IEM for a bass head. Doesn't have quite the low end reach that my vPulse does but I still use the e10 way more because it just seems to do everything pretty well.- idvsego

The Portable BASS kings..The Pioneer HDJ500 vs AKG 518 LE vs The first look at the new AT WS55 Solid Bass
Got my WS55 and ran it through a few tracks that I am familiar with. Sounds great, I am happy with my purchase. The cans are a bit light but they are supposed to be I guess. we will see how they hold up. they barely fit over my ears but that is fine too. Much more comfortable than the AKG...- idvsego

The Portable BASS kings..The Pioneer HDJ500 vs AKG 518 LE vs The first look at the new AT WS55 Solid Bass
thanks. I also picked up a set of refurb xb500 for real cheap. Cheap enough that I dont mind the fact that I wont be using them all the time. Hd a set a while back and they were heaven for certain types of music but disappointing for everything else. Should be a fun weekend- idvsego

velodyn vpulse has tons of deep bass. and it just so happens that I am selling a practically brand new pair in the FS section. Love the sound but I find that I don't use them all the time. If you are using the xb500 as your primary set then these are your IEM. I have had the Hippo VB...- idvsego

the center plastic sleeve is incredibly resilient, you don't have to remove it. I have stretched mine over many IEMs with a pair of fine tip needle nose- idvsego

Monoprice Hi-Fi DJ Style Headphone Review
so did the credit card firm that processed for DSW shoe stores. Hacking does happen on occasion. As you said, the response of monoprice to assist refunds and bolster security after the fact was on par so I stand by my original statement of "nothing to fear from monoprice."- idvsego

I like them very much. They are nearly identical to the Prodipe 800 but they have more of the small vents opened up so they have a bit more bass. If you search here on head-fi you will find a few threads on the Prodipes. Joker has them in his big review thread too. I picked up the cortex for...- idvsego

The Basshead Club
can anyone recommend a good bass head set of cans that don't have a huge protruding headband? I have a set of Cortex 2500 (prodipe by another name) that I love but they look incredibly dumb and the coiled cable is kind of heavy for portable use. I like the earcup size but the head band is...- idvsego
