AC/DC Black ice......Awesome!
It's beyond awful. A tired mess, commercial rock at its worst. Sterile, lifeless, recycled, and inane, just nothing exciting at all. Brought to you by Wal-Mart™! Quote: Originally Posted by lextek As far as changing there sound. I'm not sure why a group would want to do that...- Thelonious Monk

The Thraaaaash Metalllllllll Thread! (thrash metal)
Yeah, Demolition Hammer is just sick. Epidemic of Violence is the apex of thrash metal for me. Razor's Shotgun Justice is number two. "Brass Knuckles" is hilariously aggressive. All of the bands you listed are great, good to see another fan of Vio-Lence. Ever heard Rigor Mortis? Ripping...- Thelonious Monk

Hip-Hop and Rap Fans!
...Boy is "fake hip-hop" who is killing rap music. The notion of "fake hip-hop" makes me chuckle. Yo, dogg, one time I was listening to this dope **** with the funky bass and uncut drums then the music stopped and the MC was all "JUST KIDDING WE'RE ACTUALLY A BLACK METAL BAND FOOLED YOU" and...- Thelonious Monk

Death Metal Discussion
1. Demilich - Nespithe 2. Autopsy - Mental Funeral 3. At the Gates - With Fear I Kiss The Burning Darkness 4. Gorguts - Obscura 5. Molested - Blod-draum My favorite death metal albums. Autopsy is just brilliant. Like Black Sabbath transmogrified into death metal.- Thelonious Monk

Lucid Listening?
I've started meditation for the past few months. Restful alertness + Coltrane's Complete 1961 Village Vanguard, or Graveland's Thousand Swords, or Worship's Last Tape Before Doomsday, or any Indian classical music is bliss.- Thelonious Monk

"The Eroica Effect"
Many thanks for the heads-up! The 3rd is my favorite Beethoven symphony. It's almost as good as the 9th, but not as horrendously overplayed and exploited as that masterpiece.- Thelonious Monk

...guitar with a footstool for a long time, your spine will get a bump to the right. but you can always use an alternative that you can put between the instrument and your left leg. ... ****. Banjos and Bluegrass recommendations
Bascom Lamar Lunsford, the quintessential Southern Highlands songcatcher. I don't feel like writing any more, he's all over the internet. Listen for a lesson in American culture history. This record is like a time machine; the distinct musical geography + Lunsford's endearing baritone make it a...- Thelonious Monk

Loving NIN Ghosts - more like this for me?
Nine Inch Nails really bores me. I've always been more into "traditional" industrial. Cabaret Voltaire and Skinny Puppy are two good ones to start with. Nurse With Wound, Coil, Death In June, Foetus, VNV Nation, NON, :zoviet*france:, and Current 93 are all good.- Thelonious Monk
