IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator
Yeah, I'm surprised this one is so under the radar too... because it just sounds so nice. If you check my profile page, you can see the number of IEMs I've been through in the last couple years, and I prefer this to all of 'em. I'm slowly working on a review, which I will add to the product page...- cn11

The discovery thread!
Man with your penchant for quality single DD IEMs, I highly recommend taking a chance on the Shanling MG800. It is simply sublime. It totally surprised me, and has become my done and out of the hobby for a spell IEM!- cn11

The discovery thread!
Lol, I hear you.... I'm so tired of the Penon cable shilling around here. I'm not a fan of theirs anymore. Sure, some of their IEMs are winners, and sound really nice. I've had/ enjoyed several of theirs over the recent years. Their cables on the other hand need some serious QC, at least in my...- cn11

IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator
Great IEM! It's one that I sort of regret parting with a while back. I'm sure it's a great pairing w/ the Elite.- cn11

IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator
They're MG800 is semi-open back. They still isolate quite well though, and don't let sound leak out. I was quite surprised there is no real penalty for the semi-open construction. Only pros... as in the soundstage is pretty gigantic because of it. I totally concur!- cn11

Shanling Majestic - 12 Driver TriBrid High-End Earphones
I'm rather tempted... based on how amazingly good the MG800 is! But I'm in sell stuff / funds recovery mode for a good while. The MG800 is so good I'm willing to walk away from the hobby for an extended spell, and just enjoy my music through a masterful IEM. I would hope the Discovery is on the...- cn11

Shanling ME600 - New Five-Driver Hybrid IEMs at 329 USD
Tonedeaf.... you feel about that ME600 exactly as I do the MG800 single DD IEM. I'm literally thankful they made it (as you said in your review)! Give the single DD a try too sometime. It's a TOTAL gem, and I can't find a single flaw sonically. I may have to add the ME600 as a 'lil bro to the 800!- cn11

Mid Fi - General chat for all discussions and general chat a Thread for all.
Definitely a lot of turnover, and expensive. Thankfully I've wound up with an IEM I'm content with. The biggest thing I learned through that process was that I value full, rich midrange far more than I ever would have predicted. It was almost always the mids that kept killing most of those IEMs...- cn11

Mid Fi - General chat for all discussions and general chat a Thread for all.
Great thread! I really like the concept behind it. I've gone through a whirlwind of buying/ selling over the past 2+ years, and it has been pretty fruitless, never finding an IEM which seems to 'have it all'... and I probably over-extended a bit by going through all the following ones... These...- cn11

Ah gotcha... didn't mean to imply you didn't like it. Sorry 'bout that! I guess I experienced what you described, from the beginning of owning it... it just left me a bit cold in the company of a less expensive IEM that I liked more.- cn11

I agree w/ you on Svanar... I had it for a brief second, and didn't really enjoy it very much. Like the Himalaya, I'd take the Shanling MG800 over the Svanar in a heartbeat....- cn11

Man, you've got me highly curious to try this out.... I currently have the Shanling MG800, and it is so good as another single DD that I've stopped trying out anything else. The Himalaya is your top of the heap?? That really says something with the E12 there in the middle of the list...- cn11

Look into the Shanling MG800 (single 11mm custom dynamic driver by Shanling)... It has really deep, punchy bass which doesn't cloud the mids at all. Lows are a bit more sub-bass focused which is why. The rest of the range is wonderful, very lifelike in tonality, full rich midrange with excellent...- cn11

I used them for several weeks, and I didn't see one scratch at all. It's some super hard grade of stainless steel, so I think it's about as resistant to micro scratches as any metal bodied IEM can be.- cn11

Shanling IEMs Discussion/Impressions - March 2024, New ME600 Announced, Five-Driver Hybrid at 329 USD
Upon the recommendation of a very wise HF'er here, I decided to try out a set of the MG800. I'm so glad I did, as this IEM is just a sonic masterpiece. It is pure addiction to listen to, and I find myself using it for hours a day, with no fatigue, and ultimate comfort. The incredibly small form...- cn11
