I'm selling my custom JH Audio Jolenes. Extremely cheap as they will need to be re-shelled to fit your ears. There are companies, such as itsfit lab, that can resell for a very reasonable $150. They work perfectly, look like new and come in their original box with all original accessories...- Wilderbeast

Jh Audio Jolene Impressions and Discussion
...I bought a custom pair about a year ago. They look great and fit well but, if I'm brutally honest, I just don't like the sound much. They are a bit *too* analogue for my liking. They sound amazing for rock but I listen to a variety of music that they don't seem suited to. My question is -...- Wilderbeast

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
This made me chuckle. I've noticed the prominent audio review sites don't seem to give bad reviews, and more often than not they were given the equipment. It's a bit like politics and journalism here in the UK - they started out with good intentions but have basically merged into the same...- Wilderbeast

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
I think the Hugo2go will probably go. Technically, it's probably 'better' - the sound is crystal clear and 'cleaner'. But these days I prefer a sound that gives me a hug and makes me feel good; Mojo 2 certainly does this. To continue this awful analogy, the original Mojo smothered me with a...- Wilderbeast

I solved my cable issues by… not having any. I had Poly up & running in about two minutes - it works perfectly. Enjoying everything about Mojo 2 so far. I think the step up from Mojo is enormous.- Wilderbeast

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
Initial thoughts after a day: Sound wise, a cleaner, livelier sound than the original Mojo. I was pleased that a 3D image jumped out at me through all my IEMs (I haven't tried headphones). I haven't compared it directly with my Hugo 2 yet, but I can say the Mojo 2 sounds musical and 'lovely' -...- Wilderbeast

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
My Mojo 2 is arriving tomorrow (UK). I'm keen to compare it with my Hugo 2. For what it's worth, I think the original Hugo was the best sounding of the lot. But I've just realised I may have to wait to hear anything. I have an iPhone and no CCK. So, a bit of a niche, random question: Can I plug...- Wilderbeast

R5, a new Android DAP by Hiby
Just pulled the trigger on the R5. Which means Hiby are bound to announce a much improved R5 Pro before it arrives. Can anyone tell me if the Audible app works on the R5? What about podcast apps like Pocket Casts? Newer phones have no headphone socket & I don't want to use bluetooth or any...- Wilderbeast

Westone W60 Impressions Thread
I've had a variety of customs, including UM Miracle, a few from 64 Audio (A6, A10, A12), a few from JH Audio (13 Pro fp, Roxanne) and the one I kept, Noble K10. Now I think of it, I compared the original W60 to my Roxannes here, and compared the W60 with its W40 sibling here. My current...- Wilderbeast

Westone W60 Impressions Thread
I recently bought the W60 v2 on a whim. I wasn't intending to because of the cost - they're not far off double the price I paid for the original W60, possibly due to the weak pound. Anyway, I just wanted to let people know that I find the v2 very different to the old W60. The original W60 was a...- Wilderbeast

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player
I bought the Plenue R as a transport for my Chord Hugo for a couple of reasons: I like the Cowon interface, it has lightening quick start-up and memory read times (vs AK DAPs, for example) and it has optical digital out, which is my favourite input for the Hugo. A few pleasant surprises: the...- Wilderbeast

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player
I've bought from them a few times (including my Plenue R). Much cheaper than UK-based retailers - they're in Hong Kong I believe. There are a couple of things to bear in mind before ordering though - it'll probably take a week to arrive, and it may not be covered by warranty; some manufacturers...- Wilderbeast

Is AptX as good as a wired connection with H2? If so I would consider ditching the iPhone for something like the S8. I imagine the HuPolyGo2™© will cost around the same as an AptX phone!- Wilderbeast

I'll have to read up on the sampling. If filters 1 and 2 have a higher sampling rate they are technically better? I know there shouldn't be a difference between input sources but there definitely was on the original Hugo - optical was a smoother, more rounded listen. I recall Rob Watts saying...- Wilderbeast

In the manual, filters 1 and 2 are shown as 256fs, and filters 3 and 4 are 16fs. Does anyone know what fs stands for and what it does? I've only had a few hours listening so far but H2 sounds brighter than H1 to my ears. The overall sound is leaner and tighter, especially the bass. Of course...- Wilderbeast

How frustrating. I went to listen to my new H2 last night and completely forgot about iPhone's current cutting out problem with DACs. Argh! I don't have another source at the moment. From the fragments I did listen to, however, I am so pleased to be back in the land of Hugo goodness. I'd...- Wilderbeast
