speakers for rock
I gotta third Klipsch. I listened to offerings from Klipsch, B&W, JMLab, PSB, and considered building with my own custom design for under $1000. I'm not big into a lot of jazz, but for rock, forget it. The Klipsch Reference Line starting at the RB-35s and RF-35s (don't go below them, I'm not...- Daemoth

NIN: With Teeth, official album stream
It took me a couple spins to warm up to With Teeth. I consider this work to be something like the sequel to PHM but filtered through Broken, TDS, and the Fragile. It has a pop under current and is quite catchy, but still has his signature sonic touch. I really like it, I just don't like how they... -

Who manufactures the micro titanium/aluminum speakers?
I'm sure harman makes their own or uses Audax (a harman international company who makes just drivers.) -
28 Days Later
Kinda on the topic, they're remaking the classic sequel to Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead. I think it comes out a few weeks from now. I hope it doesn't suck....- Daemoth

Coin flips not random!
If all the forces are the same for every coin flip... duh it'll come out the same. I'm not sure why they ever bothered to test it. He should have walked down to the physics department, and I'm sure they would have given him the same answer as the study showed.- Daemoth

Do bookshelf speakers need rubber feet?
I put rubber feet on my bookshelf speakers. I figure it helps to isolate the speaker from whatever it is on. -

F/A-18A on Ebay
I'm sure the military has checked this out thoroughly and will be keeping a watch on whomever buys it. Personally, I'd go buy a older MiG fighter (if I was super wealthy). I think they usually go cheaper.- Daemoth

Retail stores with great sound systems
Yea, I went into a local mall and walk into a Kaufmann's. They were playing Nelly or something, and I couldn't believe how clean and clear everything and just how nice the bass was (Well, nice for being Nelly). So I looked up at the ceiling and what did I see, JBL in wall mounts and wall mounted...- Daemoth

34K speakers: Would look cool as headphones!
Seems to me like horns would be really hard to implement on headphones. It would probably make them large and not very comfortable. Also, I suspect many high end headphones are just as dynamic and responsive as horns already. -
HD497vsHD580
I personally would go with HD580s driven out of a soundcard before HD497s. Only problem is the HD580s seem a little out of whack with bass, mid, and treble balance from the weak power but they seem to me to have a cleaner sound by far. But for the same price range, I personally love Grado SR-60s...- Daemoth

Check out DJ Krush!
I've listened to some of DJ Krush's stuff and it is pretty good. Supposedly DJ Spooky's stuff is suppose to be similar. If you like DJ Krush, I'd definitely check out DJ Shadow and UNKLE - Psyence Fiction. Since you're a big Radiohead fan, you'll love Rabbit In Your Headlights off of the UNKLE... -
Using cheap DVD-Ps as CDPs
Well, I'm sure that using the DVD player more often to play CDs (assuming you play more CDs than you would just DVDs) does slowly wear down the unit faster than just playing DVDs. Beyond normal wear and tear, I don't see why there would be a reason for his thinking. Should that be a reason to...- Daemoth

Making analog system less bright
I suggest visiting the 2-channel forum at klipsch.com. http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/ . They'll know how to tame the brightness, though I suspect their first recommendation with be going tubes (if that B&K isn't). -

New Squarepusher on WARP
Yea, it took several repeat listenings for me to get into Go Plastic. But after several listens I really liked it. Though the track Tommib for being a whole minute is quite possibly the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. I can't wait for the new release. -

Perceptions of quality
