This Oppo udp-203 was used as my personal CD/SACD/ DVD transport while writing and reviewing as a senior editor for Positive-Feedback.com. I purchased and installed $750 in modifications from Oppomod.com. I would suggest going to their site to read up on these modifications. The mods/additions...- stuartmc

Amazon Music and Qobuz problems on the FiiO M11
This is very discouraging. I'm DAP shopping and I really wanted to get the M11 Pro. I'm using Amazon Music HD on my office system and it works and sounds great. I really wanted to use AMHD in the car streaming with my phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot. I guess that's a big NO until the Fiio folks get...- stuartmc

Amazon launches Music HD with lossless streaming
That must be frustrating as heck. I don't know what to make of it, but your suggestion that the feed in Germany may be different is a plausible explanation. If I experienced any of this downgrading behavior, I would drop Amazon like a hot rock and not try it again until I knew it was fixed...- stuartmc

Amazon launches Music HD with lossless streaming
Hmmm....very interesting and enjoyable thread to read - all 51 pages. I've been giving Amazon HD a spin for the past month and a half and I can now say that 'm more than satisfied with it. I had a few hiccups early on, but now it's performance is nearly 100% as advertised. I say nearly...- stuartmc

Fiio M11 Pro $600 is coming - Will you Purchase it ?
I couldn't resist taking a look at this review. I'm just an average guy in my 60's (who happened to be hardware editor and legal counsel to an audio publication for many years :-) ) and in my opinion, this review was not "well written." If someone submitted this to my publication, our editor...- stuartmc

iBasso DX160 - The listening experience only gets better and better. ******NEW FW 1.09 - link 1st page.******
I can certainly appreciate that. I have an Ipad as my music transport and it goes like this: Ipad > USB Regen > Tanly USB bridge > Gustard A20H > Hifiman HE-560. That's at my office. I'm looking at the DX160 as my "on the go" setup, so I really need to know if it can handle the Amazon Music HD...- stuartmc

Did you use the DX160 itself with the Amazon Music HD application? I'm not sure why you would take the extra step of using your Mac as the music server. I'd like to know if you can successfully load the app on the DX160 and have it play the high res music without any problems.- stuartmc

The USB-C digital output is very important for me, so I would appreciate hearing about the problems that the DX220 has in this regard.- stuartmc

I have been asking the same question. Can I effectively use the DX160 as a transport via USB? Another post here seemed to indicate that the DX220 had some issues with this.- stuartmc

Amazon Music's software has a few issues with reporting the proper resolution. This seems to involve the particular device you are using for playback. Amazon's support blog has some answers involving the Fiio M11, etc. With the Fiio you have start the Music App and use a lower resolution ~44...- stuartmc

Tidal's "Master Quality" (MQA) caps out at 24 bit 96khz and you must have an MQA compatible player. Amazon does not use the MQA scheme and if your player/ converter can handle 24/192khz, then you're good to go.- stuartmc

iBasso DX160 - The listening experience only gets better and better. ******NEW FW 1.09 - link 1st page.******
There are several reasons I decided to bag Tidal. 1) I'm not a fan of the principal owner, Jay-Z. 2) Amazon is offering a lot of music in what they call "ultra HD" format. That would be 24 bit and 192 khz. 3) I prefer the GUI that Amazon uses and its search function works great. 4) The music...- stuartmc

I'm curious if anyone has tried using the new Amazon Music HD service with their DX160. I'd like to know if you can play their ultra HD tracks (24 bit 196khz) without any problems and most importantly, are you able to download the tracks for offline play? There is also the question of whether...- stuartmc
