I just received mine this afternoon and works really good. Will pair it with a pair of Yamaha HS80M and in the future with a professional DA converter too.   Will post pics when the Yammies arrive this week.

I can't understand why Samsung keeps using that utterly crappy Yammie codec in the new smartphones, which is confirmed to be a real p.i.t.a. regarding sound quality.

Hope it doesn't sound as terrible as the S2 and the battery life is better, because with that screen I think it will drain faster than the battery of the S2.   Anyway, if you like it, enjoy it.

I wonder if a dampening scheme (plasticine + paxmate), similar like the one that is done in the Fostex T50RP would benefit the DJ100.

I would choose the DT770 Pro 80, after trying all the rest that you mention in your last post. Superb comfort, great soundstage, excellent balance in the entire frequency spectrum, but highly revealing and shouty if you listen to bands that don't record their music in high quality or master it...
