Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones
Oops, missed this. Didn't seem to get new notifications for this thread. That's only a touch over £150! Very nice. Well if the Carbons sound better I'm happy with those new for £220. Still feels like a bargain given the space grey etc. were going for over £100 more for a lot of the year and the...- Shinoke

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones
Err, nope. I returned the M3 and will be keeping the PX7 Carbon Edition M3s have poor ANC, very poor battery life, and for me had a poor fit and slid down when I bent my head down. Also the earcups are only suitable for small or medium size ears. The earpads are nice, genuine leather. Build...- Shinoke

These are £220 on Amazon now as part of their Black Friday deals, including the Carbon Edition (which is just a black colour version) Also the Pi4 are only £110! Got some Pi4 too. I like them, although I found the earbud fit a bit finicky. They have BT 5.0, ANC and AptX Adaptive too. And the...- Shinoke

Just cosmetic I think, not even weight. There isn't any extra carbon I think. I think I prefer the space greys. As for sound, sometimes the bass is a bit much with bassy music but the separation and detail seems great to me and they sound good. I think I found the Sennheiser Momentum 3...- Shinoke

Okay track 6 in that album did have a high pitched sound in the left ear. Will have to see it that happens with my old headphones etc but perhaps that is from a 10k spike Bass perhaps is stronger than I thought and I don't think I'm into bass, but I like it. I think it's just more low end, and...- Shinoke

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones
These are currently £228 on Amazon UK! So I got them. First impressions are that they're very luxurious and high quality. The buttons etc are just plastic but somehow it seems much higher quality than my other headphones (Definitive Technology Synphony 1) and the Sennheiser Momentum 3...- Shinoke

Did you try the Bowers & Wikings PX7? You could probably use that for everything instead of having an XM3 for travel and M3 for other times. Granted, not genuine leather - but it's practical like the XM3, but meant to sound excellent, and has even more spacious earpads than M3 Being more...- Shinoke

Full charging and discharging doesn't apply to Lithium ion - it's for old NICAD or NimH batteries (battery conditioning). Avoid charging to 100% if you can. Much better to go to even 90%.- Shinoke

Yeah it really sucks that Bose can make comfortable, very practical headphones, but just don't deliver on sound or codec support. They're good for everything except for listening to music! So what's the point? But then what's the point of a headphone sounding good if it's not comfortable to...- Shinoke

Glad you got some good battery life. Charging to 100% or for more than stated is a good way to kill the longevity of the battery however. Ideally keep it between 20 and 80% Fully charging and discharging a lithium ion battery impairs its long term capacity, so try to avoid that where...- Shinoke

What about earcup size? A few on here have tried or also own the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless and Shure Aonic 50. @sfalexi @angelom @hifi80sman @chavan123168 @Maukey @Roberk I believe The Momentum 3 earcups are a bit too small for me. I believe the PX7s are roomiest, and have the most...- Shinoke

How does the earcup size compare please? I bought the PX7 before, but didn't feel I had time to test them etc. so haven't opened them yet. Just got the Sennheiser M3 as my Definitive Technology Symphony 1's earpads are disintegrating and it's about time I upgraded them - they're a 5 year old...- Shinoke

Yeah, maybe that's where I read about v shaped. Actually just tried out some Audioslave and Chris Cornell's vocals are just as present. So just warmer, richer sounding in general, with more bass. I did feel the vocals were less present for Dog Fashion Disco - Erotic Massage 2.0 - but perhaps...- Shinoke

Well yeah, I will try the PX7 and I hope they accommodate my ears better. I think unfortunately the earcups are still too small on the M3 Hopefully some on here have tried both and can comment. As for sound, it takes some getting used to sure. Already stated I think I prefer the M3s to my...- Shinoke

Thanks So I got them. Listening to them now. First thing I noticed with the sound is the mids sound a bit veiled/recessed - vocals not forward. Good detail and separation though. And the bass blooms - I was picturing shockwaves or fireworks - blooming out. And a warm, enveloping sound. Not...- Shinoke
