    Upgrading from a pair of B & W PX

I have a pair of the original PX headphones; at the time I bought them nothing was close in terms of SQ, with a balanced sound for acoustic, country, and rock... I remember trying our the origina XM's and they were sooo base heavy. My PX's still work fine, though the battery has started to die...

    Modding a Jabra Evolve 75

What about the Orosound Tilde Pro S+? There isn't much info out there on it, but it seems to meet the requirements. Though I have not tried it.

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

I'd be interested in what theP17's are like on phone calls. I love B&W, so willing to take a chance on SQ, but I need decent call-quality. I have a pair of Senn TW2's, and basically can't use them for phone calls. Can't seem to find anything on the internet about people making a call with them.

YT Music vs GPM audio quality

I have been a GPM (Google Play Music) subscriber for a while, and have been fairly happy with the audio quality.(I actually found it to be better than Spotify, but that a couple years ago, last I tested, and I have heard Spotify has improved a lot.) I was wondering if the new You Tube Music app...

Transform your Journey - Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless headphones deliver long-haul performance and a smart travel experience

I will be using these for calls on hangouts/google-meet, slack, zoom, goto-meeting, etc plus phone calls as much as listening to music. The MB 660 is about $100 more than the PXC 550's on Amazon (only place I have checked so far). Is all I am getting is a bluetooth dongle and UC/Skype...

Chromecast vs Chromecast Audio to hook to Receiver

Now that the ChromeCast 2.0 has fixed the 48kHz issue with firmware, is the audio quality of it the same as the ChromeCast Audio over optical? As long as there is no re-sampling, they should be equal if plugged into the same receiver (same DAC) right?

    STRDH130 vs SMLS/Topping/etc vs Used

Looking for an amp to drive a new set of Polk tsi200's. It is a secondary system, and will only be connected to a Chromecast. I am going to stick the receiver out of site, in the top shelf of a cupboard, so it can be ugly :). It won't be near any other equipment though (other than lights). I...

ChromeCast Audio DAC vs DAC in SMSL Q5 Pro

I was going to hook my ChromeCast audio to a TP22 or other 2050 amp. But I am wondering if I should get one with a built in DAC like the SMSL Q5 which has optical in. If the DAC in the CCA is the same quality as the DAC in the Q5 Pro, then I'll save my money, and just get a used TP22 for less...

Small (Bookshelf) set of active speakers to hook to Chromecast Audio?

Hmmm, I just realized that I have a $75 amazon.com gift card, which is almost impossible to use from Canada (they don't crossover to amazon.ca). Maybe I could trade the gift card for a small amp on the fs/ft forums here. What is the next step up from the 2020 which would provide a little more...

Small (Bookshelf) set of active speakers to hook to Chromecast Audio?

Thanks for all the help. I actually was looking at the D1080's, as they are available locally. I also just noticed a closeout flyer, which has the Polk TSi200's for the same price as the Swan D1080's... but I would need to amp the Polk's. I am guessing the D1080's would sound better than Polks...

Small (Bookshelf) set of active speakers to hook to Chromecast Audio?

I find Chromecast to be much more convenient than BT, and to sound better as well. I have a couple options for placement. 1. On a standalone wooden pantry in dining room facing towards the kitchen counter, I work on. The pantry is about 4' wide, so there would not be much separation. 2. On top...

Small (Bookshelf) set of active speakers to hook to Chromecast Audio?

I have a Chromecast audio hooked up to my stereo is the basement, and I also have one hooked to an ancient receiver and even older set of floor speakers out in the garage. Now I'd like to Put something on the main level of our house, specifically the kitchen to listen to music while cooking...

Chromecast vs Chromecast Audio to hook to Receiver

I have a Yamaha RX-V675 receiver. I was thinking about getting a Chromecast Audio for, but for the same price I could get the Chromecast 2.0 and plug it into the HDMI on the receiver. I get that the CCA gives me a little more flexibility in the devices I connect to, but I plan on only using it...

    Anyone use Tidal *Standard*?

Now that Tidal has a $9.99 price point to compete with Google Play Music, I was wondering if anyone uses it,? Or at that price point do people just stick with Spotify and Google Play Music? I am curious if people find the 'standard' quality basically the same as GPM?

    Jaybird Freedom

The devices I have that support Apt-X are too low quality for me to tell (old stero in garage, a small speaker). My car has better quality, but sounds crappy over B/T. It doesn't support apt-x.   So I have never really done an apples-to-apples comparison.
