Stax SR-L300 Impressions Thread
I came to Stax a few months ago, then having Senn HD800S and Focus Elear as my main HP setup - I always seem to have two HPs as main setup :) And then I was presentented to a Stax setup for the first time. What the ****! (Sorry for the language). It was some kind of revelation, like a veil was...- peter2

If the mfi-cable will be anything like Audeze's, It could solve the problem with "too much bass" some people have - ie, for apple users.- peter2

The Stax Thread III
To be honest, I would not chose Stax for "some occasions". The setup becomes very expensive with a decent amp. For "some occasions" would have stayd with RS2e and a Chord Mojo. That said, I think the sound of the L700 is similar to the Grados Reference series, ie very transperent with a intimate...- peter2

The Stax Thread III
I started with Stax recently after a long road (and many years) of headphone discoveries. After a few minutes of listening to the L700 with srm-007II I shouted Eureka! This is it! After a few weeks I got curious of the 007 and could not resist getting a pair. At the same time I could not bare to...- peter2

The Stax Thread III
I own srm-007II and both sr-007 mk2 and L700 and I love both setups. To my ears, both headphones are easily driven by the Stax amp. I have owned a lot of high-end amps and headphones and my present setup easily beats them all. But I have not heard these HPs with the top amps from Headamp and...- peter2

Grado Fan Club!
I defenitly think RA1 is underrated in this forum. If you spend a few days with it together with RS1 (or even GS1000e) you might find a big suprise in how it affect you. I never regarded Grados as neutral and exact, besides PS1000. They are pure music enjoyment (I enjoy PS1000 also, very much)...- peter2

No, the lightening interface can only handle 24/48 - I am almost sure of that :) I mean if you connect via camera connector to a USB DAC.- peter2

Does iOS downsample highres in the default music app even if the iPhone is connected to a hig-res compatible DAC?- peter2

Yes, 24/48 is highres. ALAC can be in the same bit deph/sample rate as FLAC. Perhaps the default app can play 24/192 to a compatible DAC, but I have never tested more than 16/44. I do not think the default app is constructed to play high-res files, while apps like iAudiogate and Onkyo is. So if...- peter2

You say lossless, wich is not highres. If I had my music in ALAC 16/44, I would be very happy to use the default iPhone player. For 24bit and DSD I choose iAudiogate (or Onkyo HF player or anonter high-res player). I think the interface of the iPhone's default player is superior to the other...- peter2

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
@SomeGuyDude My Elears are exploding from the sound of Kamelots album "epic" - I have been a fan of this kind of music for decades - normally It's ECM music, i.e. contemporary jazz and classical. I have also enjoyed the Dolven album: Navigating the Labyrinth. I think it's about re-discovering...- peter2

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
Luckily, I Ilive in a moderatly populated area with more sounds from nature than people and technology. On travels, I used to have Bose qc35, but switched to B&W 7 wireless, because I thoght the Bose sounded strange. I like the B&W 7 wirelsess, but they are not in the same contest as the iSine...- peter2
