Did you press the little button next to the update port? That will wipe the USB Amanero firmware which could explain why the device is no longer recognised.- mivarpet

Thanks for the quick reply! What did you find the benefit to be with the basalt sleeves?- mivarpet

That‘s interesting about the basalt sleeves. Is this an alternative to carbon sleeves for RF suppression? I make a lot of my own cables so I’m always interested to learn. Could you please share a link to where you got the sleeves? Thank you- mivarpet

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. Each foot is held by 2 x M3 screws from the inside of the unit. You need to remove the PCBs to get to the screws, so it's a big job.- mivarpet

That's a great idea @Jake2 with the damping sheets. Looks like I have another mod to try! I have some spare dynamat type sheeting left over from when I did my car doors, so I will be giving that a go for sure.- mivarpet

Thanks @DACLadder for checking on the fuse. I'm going to try my spare 3A Gustard fuse over the weekend to listen for a change. The "problem" with tweaking the clock is that it seems to take about a day to stabilise before I can assess the benefit of any changes. It could be less than that, by...- mivarpet

From what I see on line the fuse for the Gustard U18 is 500mA but the one in the OCK-1 is 1A. EDIT - I just tried a 500mA fuse I had spare and the OCK-1 powered up fine without blowing the fuse.- mivarpet

I haven't tried a fuse swap yet so thanks for reminding me! The one in the OCK1 has gold caps so on that purely aesthetic basis might be better than the average cheap one. I have a spare Gustard fuse I'll give a go over the weekend.- mivarpet

There has been some banter on this thread about the OCK-1 & OCK-2 clocks. For those of you who like to (read as, I can't stop myself) modify their gear, I've just posted some mods I made on my OCK-1 on the Master clock thread, here -...- mivarpet

For the tweakers amongst you all, I've made a few mods to my OCK-1 that have all been worthwhile - #1 - Changed the feet to improve mechanical isolation. I used Audio Serenity ISO-9H and have use these before with good results. Link - Audio Serenity ISO-9h #2 - Fabricated an aluminum RF...- mivarpet

An ACSS connection is a clear improvement over XLR and highly recommended. I have made my own cables and my current favourite is using high purity silver, single strand, individually shielded cable that I braid and then put in a cotton sleeve. Before that I was very happy with a Belden 8402...- mivarpet
