Foobar2000 - Troubles with APE image converting to individual FLAC tracks
^i've got some bad news for you. medieval is horribly broken and the files it creates are not bit perfect copies of the original. http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=57563&st=0&p=683198&#entry683198- marc2003

What's your foobar2000 setup?
i've been sharing them for a long time over on hydrogenaudio. here's a link to what you need. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22801321/samples.zip make sure you follow the readme carefully. BTW, the images script is named thumbs, all the others are self explanatory.- marc2003

Why isnt iTunes recognizing a cd when I put it into the drive?
try and narrow down all the variables. does this happen with the same disk? if it's recognised sometimes but not others, i'd be looking at the drive and/or cable. if it's only certain disks i'd test the disk with other software and even just a normal CD player. i have a CD that no computer...- marc2003

Convert Ape to Flac
Quote: no it isn't. APE is lossless. FLAC is lossless. there is no quality lost during conversion. foobar2000 will prove this if you use foo_bitcompare http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_bitcompare (foo_input_monkey is also required to decode ape files...- marc2003

How do you guys rip your CD's?
foobar2000+tak encoder for lossless archival. so long as you use something with accuraterip support, it doesn't really matter. i use vorbis @ q5 (~160kbps) on my portables.- marc2003

How the formats .wav + .flac + .m4a (alac) effect battery life on portable daps
the only way to be sure is to do your own benchmarks. whilst codec A might last longer than codec B on player X, that doesn't mean the same is going to be true on your player Y. the firmware could be better tuned for certain codecs than others. i know the difference between flac and lossy codecs...- marc2003

Help Please! :) CUE files/APE files/ tagging/ rockbox?
eh? i never questioned the source of your cue sheet/files. all i meant was that you can use these tools to verify the newly created split tracks against it. that is all.- marc2003

Help Please! :) CUE files/APE files/ tagging/ rockbox?
the link in my previous reply should have linked to a specific post rather than the whole thread. click it again and scroll to the very last post. that shows how someone used accuraterip and foo_bitcompare to make sure the new created files are bit for bit identical to the source material. that...- marc2003
