VSONIC V7007 (former "GR08") - Info & expectations thread
Weeks after this post, my triple-flanges arrived and while there was *some* change, they still fail to impress me. I stand by my opinion that these are only "balanced" by the analitic-lover definition of "balanced". Oh, and one day later the cables suddendly started to fail at the L-plug while...- lukeskymac

VSONIC V7007 (former "GR08") - Info & expectations thread
Seems like the Heir beats the GR07 easily enough.... but then again it's twice the price. Let's see how the GR08 fares. While we are talking about comparisons, has anyone compared the GR07 to the Unique Melody Aero? EDIT: I should also point out how I couldn't agree more with Cotnijoe's...- lukeskymac

Not sure if going to buy Heir 3.A or GR08... would be nice to know how the Heir compares to the GR07 for starters.- lukeskymac

VSONIC Focus 007 - The world's first planar-magnetic IEM - Info & expectations thread
While the small and thin bars of neodymium (which itself is quite light) are a far cry from Yamaha's old "giant disc magnet with holes in it", I too am curious about the magnets. I focus, however, on whether they are going to shrink that number of slender bars to fit in an IEM (which is hard...- lukeskymac

VSONIC Focus 007 - The world's first planar-magnetic IEM - Info & expectations thread
Indeed. After reading again that fascinating Inner Fidelity article about Orthos, it sure seems that they would theoretically the ultimate Dynamic-Electrostatic hybrids, as their operation method would suggest... if it weren't for damping, that is. That can cause some imaging/soundstage issues...- lukeskymac

VSONIC Focus 007 - The world's first planar-magnetic IEM - Info & expectations thread
(I didn't mean for the text to get badly formatted like that, sorry) Now I'm desperately going to read reviews on Hifiman orthos to try and find out whether poor imaging/dynamics is inherent to orthos and thus whether I should shoot down my hopes for this and just hope the GR08 is badass...- lukeskymac

Vsonic? Those guys making that GR07 I own? Are making an IEM? That's planar magnetic? The technology I have always been curious about but have never heard before? OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOD Ok, here are the things that need to happen in order for me to buy this: - Cost less than...- lukeskymac

VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread
My ZO2 will be arriving shortly. Will post comparisons of it's Level 0 (no bass boost) and Level 1 contouring against my iPod nano 6th gen sound here and at the ljokerl thread. Hoping that they'll bring some improvement over the iPod's sound, even without contouring.- lukeskymac

Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)
I thought that ADDIEMs had nice vocals but with the GR07 I can clearly understand WTH Thom Yorke is saying most of the time. Quite a feat... The ZO2 order has just been confirmed.- lukeskymac

Vsonic GR07: Perfection (Added MKII vs Bass Edition 24/03)
Hey, I like their cables! Their rubberiness makes me feel safer, I couldn't care less about the greeness (couldn't be worse than Apple white cables getting dirty...) or the bends that resulted from the packaging.- lukeskymac

Quote: Of course I am =P. I am very hard to please, I tend to place high expectations on things I research and buy, especially if they cost so much more than the average person thinks it's sane to. In the end I'd be complaining about the Turbines too. And would go absolutely...- lukeskymac
