    VSONIC V7007 (former "GR08") - Info & expectations thread

Weeks after this post, my triple-flanges arrived and while there was *some* change, they still fail to impress me. I stand by my opinion that these are only "balanced" by the analitic-lover definition of "balanced". Oh, and one day later the cables suddendly started to fail at the L-plug while...

Quote: Foam tips degrade, and it's both impractical and too expensive to have new tips every two weeks.

    VSONIC V7007 (former "GR08") - Info & expectations thread

Seems like the Heir beats the GR07 easily enough.... but then again it's twice the price. Let's see how the GR08 fares. While we are talking about comparisons, has anyone compared the GR07 to the Unique Melody Aero? EDIT: I should also point out how I couldn't agree more with Cotnijoe's...

Not sure if going to buy Heir 3.A or GR08... would be nice to know how the Heir compares to the GR07 for starters.

    VSONIC Focus 007 - The world's first planar-magnetic IEM - Info & expectations thread

While the small and thin bars of neodymium (which itself is quite light) are a far cry from Yamaha's old "giant disc magnet with holes in it", I too am curious about the magnets. I focus, however, on whether they are going to shrink that number of slender bars to fit in an IEM (which is hard...

    VSONIC Focus 007 - The world's first planar-magnetic IEM - Info & expectations thread

Indeed. After reading again that fascinating Inner  Fidelity article about Orthos, it sure seems that they would theoretically the ultimate Dynamic-Electrostatic hybrids, as their operation method would suggest... if it weren't for damping, that is. That can cause some imaging/soundstage issues...

    VSONIC Focus 007 - The world's first planar-magnetic IEM - Info & expectations thread

(I didn't mean for the text to get badly formatted like that, sorry) Now I'm desperately going to read reviews on Hifiman orthos to try and find out whether poor imaging/dynamics is inherent to orthos and thus whether I should shoot down my hopes for this and just hope the GR08 is badass...

Vsonic? Those guys making that GR07 I own? Are making an IEM? That's planar magnetic? The technology I have always been curious about but have never heard before?      OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOD Ok, here are the things that need to happen in order for me to buy this: - Cost less than...

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

My ZO2 will be arriving shortly. Will post comparisons of it's Level 0 (no bass boost) and Level 1 contouring against my iPod nano 6th gen sound here and at the ljokerl thread. Hoping that they'll bring some improvement over the iPod's sound, even without contouring.

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

I thought that ADDIEMs had nice vocals but with the GR07 I can clearly understand WTH Thom Yorke is saying most of the time. Quite a feat...   The ZO2 order has just been confirmed.

Vsonic GR07: Perfection (Added MKII vs Bass Edition 24/03)

Hey, I like their cables! Their rubberiness makes me feel safer, I couldn't care less about the greeness (couldn't be worse than Apple white cables getting dirty...) or the bends that resulted from the packaging.

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Quote:   Of course I am =P. I am very hard to please, I tend to place high expectations on things I research and buy, especially if they cost so much more than the average person thinks it's sane to.   In the end I'd be complaining about the Turbines too. And would go absolutely...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Hello there everyone, it's been some time since I've chimed in to talk about the GR07   The sound has slightly improved mostly all-round since then, but I've concluded that, at least with the nano, it simply sounds too bass-light. I've compared it with what's left of my ADDIEM (the left...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

I miss the more forward presentation of the ADDIEM... But if the DBA has less bass I wouldn't like it either. I guess I'll only be satisfied with an uber-high-end pair of over-the-ears

Quote: I'm quite surprised. I know that Arcade Fire are indie, but this is their third album, and considering their musical style I wasn't expecting Dynamic Range Compression from them... It's not like they are Lady Gaga or something...   But I am afraid you're right. Even No Cars...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

A better example. Listen to In The Backseat, the closer for Funeral (man that was an awesome album). Everything is just perfect until 1:12. When both the cellos (i guess) and the guitar come in, it's obvious that the guitar takes the lead. However, I feel that the cellos should be perfectly...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Quote: I find them too messy in two ways. I am analyzing Rococo. It's all fine and dandy during the first 47 seconds. When the "aah aah aaaah"s start the bass-like instrument is a tad lighter in presence than I remember, as if the song was overall thinned, but in a very slight way. Up to...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Garh, I'm extremely frustated with my GR07's right now. "Natural" and "Dynamic" simply don't come to mind when I'm listening to them in any track that has more than one vocal and two backing instruments. I don't know whether it's a fit issue, break-in issue (they have been burning for some 120...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

ljokerl and owners of the GR07, how big would be the difference in sound between a GR07 in an iPod nano and with the Fiio E7 (using the line out from the nano)? For those unfamiliar, the E7 has both an amp and a Wolfson Audio DAC.   Also, I have about 70 hours of GR07 use. Sibilance is...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

I now definitely know that I need an amp. Lowering down the volume so that detail is *just* barely hearable in an absolutely quiet background makes everything sound about as natural as I'd like. Increasing the volume by a little bit fogs the music. If that's not a sign that I need an amp, I...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Quote: Well, everything here is "fones de ouvido" (earphones). There is no translation for "headphones". Basically no one says "clip-on" (if they did it would be in english), and although there seems to be the term "intra-auricular", the few people who know what it is about just say...
