  I second IE 800 with Mojo. Can't be more happy with this combination. For me, IE 800 out from a smart phone is still great, but something about the Mojo that gives it more body and is smoother - that makes me come back to it.

I use it on the train, while walking etc. They are like any other iem, so I do not see a problem taking them out. There are obvious places you would be worried about i.e beach, swimming pool etc. You treat them the same as you would any other iem logically (Obviously they are more pricey, so...

  Totally agree with everything you said.   There are so many factors that makes one like a particular product over another - saying x is better than y, and thinking it applies to everyone else might be a bit simplistic (especially when we are dealing with high end products). It might be true...

One can be negative about something and also bias in nature, that is totally fine. The emphasis is on the "overly" part.

I'm wondering how do people connect speakers like Kef x300a to the Mojo?   The signal is passed to the KEF x300a which has dedicated amps and dacs.   How does one bypass the internal systems with an external one?

I think from previous posts, it is normal that it shuts down due to overheating which is something you want to prevent further damages. Different issue I think, I've noticed though that when connected to my android phone, sometimes the phone would just restart during playback. Need to try with...

I found the ie 800 better than shure 846 and akg 3003, but that is my taste which will differ with everyone. So I find the price between all three justifiable if they are competiting at the same level. Whether it is justifiable for an audio gear is an entirely different story.
