  I second IE 800 with Mojo. Can't be more happy with this combination. For me, IE 800 out from a smart phone is still great, but something about the Mojo that gives it more body and is smoother - that makes me come back to it.

One can be negative about something and also bias in nature, that is totally fine. The emphasis is on the "overly" part.

I'm wondering how do people connect speakers like Kef x300a to the Mojo?   The signal is passed to the KEF x300a which has dedicated amps and dacs.   How does one bypass the internal systems with an external one?

I found the ie 800 better than shure 846 and akg 3003, but that is my taste which will differ with everyone. So I find the price between all three justifiable if they are competiting at the same level. Whether it is justifiable for an audio gear is an entirely different story.

  ie800 have been getting disliked lately. I however, love them.   Again, different iems for different tastes.       Yes, they are different. I find IE800 to be less bright and you will not have the soundstage of HD800, so the music sounds more intimate.

That is only around 5 days apart. I'm guessing your earlier post missed quite alot of details about different levels of audio and that the higher you go, it might be difficult to determine what is better and more about personal taste.

I don't think it's about whether one item is more capable within their field. But rather which item would give you the better sound quality if you were to choose one. I'm not sure if I'm right, but I would have thought having an ie 800 and a phone would provide that more than a mojo and a cheap...

Not sure, but I thought the benefits you get for a $900aud iem (ie800) using with a phone would be better than a mojo $900aud with a $50 iem. Maybe I'm wrong.
