I heard the build quality on the Denon was pretty sub-par. I'd want to get something that'll last for years. How would you say the build quality is, though?

How big is the difference between the 750 and 900? The 900 is awfully expensive... But if there's a large difference I can wait until I have some more cash available.

While I haven't heard the ATH-Ax00 series, I own an ATH-ES7 and can definitely recommend it. It's right around your price range, has decent isolation, and has a good amount of bass. You might also look into the AKG K81DJ. I haven't heard it myself, but I see it recommended around here a lot.
