It was overkill for my system (and my wallet)... check out the a900s.

They can be found off ebay for $305 out the door still I think. I just sold mine for a little less than that, but they were brand new, never used. You could get a used pair for like $250-$260. Shipping couldn't be that much overseas....

I think most people here would let up on them some if they weren't so expensive and didn't consider themselves "high end".

I know I'm excited about it atleast. I can't wait for more reviews and to hear other's impressions also. I am a hardcore gamer and an audiophile on the side... so in theory...this is right up my alley!

I believe Tiberian has woodied 650s. You might just be better off PMing him and asking for his thoughts. It's not a common mod so you're looking for thoughts from a very small group of people I think. If you wait until January after the meet in Seattle I'm sure there will be lots of talk...

Maybe the Audiotechnica a900 might be a better choice for him... they're only 40Ω it seems
