Just made me think of Donald Fagen's album "The Nightfly". Listening to it as a teenager and love it to this day. One of those albums where all the tracks are great and a wondefful listen end to end.. ❤️- goldwerger

I love Tommy Emmanuel, one of the most talent acoustic guitarist alive today. Saw him live in NYC a few months ago and it was electrifying. His improvisation skills and musicality are off the charts for me.- goldwerger

I haven't owned it, but I'd take a look at the Mola Mola Tambaqui. Every time I demo it, I'm struck by how spacious and open its presentation is, which may synergize well with a warm amp. @HONEYBOY has one that I know he loves; perhaps he can offer some insight. I agree I have a bunch of closed backs on hand - CC, AC, Rognir planar, L5000, L3000, AWKG - and when I get around to doing a more comprehensive writeup, I’ll try to drop some comparison notes. I think, for most folks, the distinction between the CC and AC, which have some very clear characters...- goldwerger

I currently use Philips Miniwatt GZ34 (Sittard factory, 1968, black base, DD getter). Input tubes are Tung-Sol 6SU7GTY (1950-52). Which amp are you using it with? I have yet to try this brand.- goldwerger

What output tubes are you currently rolling with the Aegis? I’ve had the Mullard EL37 for awhile and they are exquisite, airy, refined . Recently switched to Tung-Sol made RCA 6550 that have more texture and bass, and going to switch to Shu Guang WEKT88 Plus next.- goldwerger
