How do I connect a headphone amp to my AV-receiver?

I just tried connecting a pair of old active speakers to my receiver's CD/MD-R output. This didn't seem to work. I think it only works with the audio going in the CD/MD-R input...   So I guess I need another AV receiver to connect a headphone amp to it...

How do I connect a headphone amp to my AV-receiver?

Quote: Thanks for the advice, but that's not really the problem. I want to upgrade my headphones to something like the HD800 or T1. These phones need to be properly amped, so I need to figure out how to connect a headphone amp to my receiver.   I've read that your receiver has an...

How do I connect a headphone amp to my AV-receiver?

Quote: Which amps with analogue inputs, which are around the same price range of the Xonar Essence One, are recommended for headphones like the Sennheiser HD800?   Edit: Actually... How would I connect the amp even if it had analogue inputs? sure, my AV-receiver has a few analogue...

How do I connect a headphone amp to my AV-receiver?

So I need to replace my AV-receiver? or do I have another worthy option?   I actually don't use the HDMI-out on the receiver. I prefer to connect the video directly to my TV. Would that help?   If I do decide to replace my AV-receiver, should I just look for one with a digital-out? or...

How do I connect a headphone amp to my AV-receiver?

I'm thinking of upgrading my head-fi equipment. Right now I'm using the Beyerdynamic DT880 (250 ohms) headphones, which are connected to my Yamaha RX-V663 AV-receiver or Asus Xonar Essence ST audio card (I have to switch manually).   Now I'm willing to replace my audio card, but I'd like to...

    New Beyer DT1350

Quote:   Are you going to use them at home or on the road? If it's for portable use, the DT1350 might be for you. If not, then maybe you should wait for the Beyerdynamic T70?

    New Beyer DT1350

Quote: I wouldn't call the DT1350 an "upgrade" to the DT880... The DT1350 is amazing that it can deliver similar qualities of the DT880 while keeping portability in mind. It isolates well, doesn't leak too much sound and has a portable design. When I'm at home though, I'd rather listen...

    New Beyer DT1350

Quote: Don't worry, I wouldn't call them too bassy or too dark. The sound is very balanced to my ears. Something that reminds me of my DT880. Imagine a closed DT880 with smaller earcups and tighter fit and you might have something which comes close to the DT1350.

Best portable DAP with true line-out?

Do the Sansa Clip+ and Fuze+ also have true line-out?

    New Beyer DT1350

As I've mentioned before, the DT1350 need proper source and amplification to sound their best. The same thing needs to be said about the DT880. I wouldn't recommend them without it.

    New Beyer DT1350

Quote:   Thanks! it works ^_^   Quote:   I haven't heard the T1, but I believe the DT1350 are up in the same alley as the DT880 when it comes to pure sound quality. They just have some tonal differences since one is a semi-open full-sized can, and the other being small and...

Best portable DAP with true line-out?

I'm looking for a portable DAP with the following specs:   - It needs to have a true line-out port - It has to be small (I'm not looking for a huge device like the Hifiman HM-801) - Of course, I want it to produce the best sound quality as possible   Any suggestions?   Are the...

    New Beyer DT1350

Just got the DT1350. Tried them out unamped on my Nexus S phone and on my home receiver. This is the sound I was looking for. A lot like my DT880 (250ohm), but with more bass. What's amazing about these headphones is that they sound like big, closed headphones. The soundstage and music...
