DIY repair of harman kardon NC ?
Hi I got caught in the tube (underground) door when listening to my music through headphones, and as a result my harman kardon nc suffered damage to one speaker. There is no visible damage outside, but something must came loose inside since the quality deteriorated a lot and there is...- brok

Master Noise Cancelling Shootout: Sony MDR-1RNC vs. Sony MDR-NWNC200 vs. AKG K490NC vs. Bose QC15 vs. Sennheiser Momentum vs. Harman Kardon NC
Thank you, I went for HK NC, found them cheap in Costco.co.uk (I think I bought last pair!) and am very happy, despite unusual design. The design is not actually not bad, just different. Very comfortable and weight is OK for me, wore them 8 hours in the office with no fatigue. No...- brok

recommended player with line out and bluetooth output, support for microSD?
Yeah, 300g is small brick or perhaps a throwing weapon ;) I doesn't bother me though; it is more compact (and cheaper) than two piece setup with separate amp.- brok

recommended player with line out and bluetooth output, support for microSD?
I'm looking in the general direction of IHIFI-812V2 , reviewed at http://www.head-fi.org/t/633258/review-ihifi-812-v2-portable-player-an-interesting-budget-high-end-portable and it seems to match my requirements very well (as said above, Bluetooth I can live without). The price is nice, too. ...- brok

Master Noise Cancelling Shootout: Sony MDR-1RNC vs. Sony MDR-NWNC200 vs. AKG K490NC vs. Bose QC15 vs. Sennheiser Momentum vs. Harman Kardon NC
I'm just about to buy new ANC headphones for plane travel (UK-US, which is too long for IEM) and am looking at H/K NC. Nearest alternative seem to be PSB M4U 2, but they cost some 50% more here and I'm not amazed by their plastic band. Also, from reviews I have seen so far it would seem that H/K...- brok

recommended player with line out and bluetooth output, support for microSD?
Thank you, that's not bad advice. I can live with volume buttons (seems to be standard now) and the price is not too bad. I do wonder, will it be able to drive my valve headphone amplifier? That's why I'd prefer something with line out. On the other hand, line in, in a player, seems totally...- brok

recommended player with line out and bluetooth output, support for microSD?
Not really - most jamboxes have line in input. Just a minor convenience feature for less discerning audience. Also I might not upgrade headphones to higher than 32ohms, I didn't think it through yet.- brok

recommended player with line out and bluetooth output, support for microSD?
I'm on the market looking to buy an MP3 player with very good sound quality and specific features: it has to have line out output, support bluetooth streaming and take microSD cards. I think ibasso DX100 would probably fit the bill, but it costs about twice as much as I'm willing to spend. Also...- brok

looking for good AND loud closed headphones
After reading many reviews I decided to buy audio technica ATH-ES55 . The price (under 100GBP) is good, they are closed and apparently suitable for use without amplifier on ordinary MP3 player, and from what I've read SQ is possibly best (for closed headphones) at this price point. Also just in...- brok

looking for good AND loud closed headphones
Also looking at Beyerdynamics DT 660 and T 50p. Apparently noise isolation of closed design of these headphones is good enough, and I trust they are loud and the sound is better than decent. Will post any other candidates I'm considering, perhaps someone will want to contribute with...- brok

looking for good AND loud closed headphones
Planning a gift for my wife, she is currently using some $10 cheapo over-the-ear for her MP3 player. We also have Sennheiser HD 497 at home (not loud enough with this player) and I'm using Westone IME so I know the sound of slightly better headphones. The thing is my wife does not care...- brok

So many IEMs - how do I choose?
Buy Etymotic ER-6i . Do not be mistaken by "i", there is real difference in sound (8 dB higher output) between ER-6 and ER-6i . And you can buy them black. I just bought ER-4P (few days ago) and I'm amazed by the quality of sound (ER-6i is only slightly worse, but much cheaper) and level of...- brok
