I would say yes to the combination of those five items working well together, as I have all those parts and they fit well together. It's been answered for me before by DMinor a fair number of pages back on this thread now about the 2000 mAh battery fitting in an iPod with the Tarkan...- Blasman

I suppose I could try the "developmental version," but I opted to use the latest stable version instead. Regardless, I think I will live with the little bit of extra effort that it takes to switch the iPod into iTunes mode when I want to add music to it.- Blasman

Then I would be limited to either "disk mode" or Rockbox USB mode. Rockbox USB mode simply doesn't work with flash memory on the iPod (you may be able to copy a few MB, but it will likely be corrupted). I don't see how using emCORE will get faster transfer speeds.- Blasman

From my write tests above, the standard Apple UI on the iPod (the one that comes with the iPod that syncs with iTunes) is by far the fastest of the three methods of adding music to the 5.5 gen iPod with Tarkan's adapter combo. I don't even have iTunes installed on my computer. I just did...- Blasman

The ipodpatcher.exe I have learned is used in order to dual boot into both the standard Apple iPod interface and Rockbox by performing a hard reset after turning the hold switch on and off. In any case, I have done a lot of various speed tests and have concluded the following: This is...- Blasman

Well I got the speed for the 256GB on my PC in the first step above. The 16GB I believe is slightly slower (in my iPod right now and I'm about to go to sleep otherwise I'd test it). By "after step 25" simply refers to the procedure that I linked above at this link.- Blasman

I am hoping that someone who using a 5.5 gen ipod could let me know what kind of write speeds to the device that they are getting using flash memory. I have spent two days now trying different things and taking stuff apart and putting it back together trying to figure out why my write speeds...- Blasman

Well I decided to just put my Tarkan adapter with the 256GB PNY SDXC card into the 5.5 gen ipod that I just acquired rather than my 6th gen, as the general consensus is that the 5.5 has better sound quality than the 6th gen. I do strongly prefer the faceplate of the 6th gen, but as I mentioned...- Blasman

So I just tried to get a 5.5 generation board into a 6 gen faceplate. The board does not sit flush with the frame of the 6 gen's plate. I have screwed the plate together with both a 5.5 gen and a 6 gen clickwheel. The little amount of give from the mainboard against the faceplate remains...- Blasman

Thanks for posting photos. It still looks like the clickwheel is slightly raised above the frontplate from those photos. Are you using the LCD from the 5th gen or 6/7th gen? I was going to mod my 6th gen with Tarkan's adapter, but I just picked up a 5.5 gen for cheap and now I want to...- Blasman

How do you figure? According to the model number on the ebay page photo, it would be #2 on that list that you linked to.- Blasman

So I just spent an hour or two searching around. I just bought this http://www.ebay.ca/itm/271630908363. I'm hoping that was a smart purchase. I assume that I just need a thinner battery now and I should be able to fit Tarkan's "iFlash SD-CF Adapter Bundle" in there and that should net me...- Blasman
