Review here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/626851/review-nuforce-icon2-s-x-speakers-w-1-sub-lps-power-supply#post_9011780   Summary: I have the fully upraded version, the LPS-2U-192k. This unit sports dual DC outputs and a usb to spdif bridge (outputting optical and coax simultaneously).   The price may seem high, but keep in mind this is essentially three devices in one. The performance is very good, and improvements in sound are noticeable both with my Icon2 and HDP.   It is also not limited strictly to Nuforce devices. The output is...
  5. NuForce Icon-2 Integrated Desktop Amplifier with 24bit/96kHZ USB DAC and high performance headphone amplifier

A full review here, including the S-X speakers and W-1 subwoofer and LPS power supply: http://www.head-fi.org/t/626851/review-nuforce-icon2-s-x-speakers-w-1-sub-lps-power-supply   Summary: The Icon2 is a great all-in-one device. It has a usb dac, analog inputs, headphone output, speaker output, and subwoofer out. It does all that in something the size of a book.   The only downside is that Nuforce has released several other products with reduced funcationality but likewise reduced cost. If you don't need all the bells and whistles, you can...

My full review/comparison of the NE-600X vs 700X vs 770X... http://www.head-fi.org/t/623137/review-comparison-nuforce-iems-ne-600x-ne-700x-ne-770x   Quick summary: - U shaped sound - tiny fit - decent sound, but really the 770X is the better choice at half the price

  10. Nuforce Black Cube Portable Speaker, Headphone Amp, and USB DAC

    4.00 star(s)
My full review can be found here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/618638/review-nuforce-cube-portable-speaker-usb-dac-headphone-amp   The executive summary: The speaker is surprisingly good for its size and cost. It's not the best dac or headphone amp at this price point however, but you'll be hard pressed to find all these things in one little package. The excellent form and build quality is just bonus.

For a comparison of the NE-600X vs 700X vs 770X, see here:  http://www.head-fi.org/t/623137/review-comparison-nuforce-iems-ne-600x-ne-700x-ne-770x   This is the entry level IEM from Nuforce, a company better known to us headfiers for the uDac and HDP.  I'm keeping this review short as I will be writing up a more complete comparison with their other iems at a later point.    Specifications: - Driver: 11mm - Impedance: 16 ohms - Frequency Response: 20-20k Hz - Rated Power: 1 mW - Max Input: 3 mW - Sensitivity: 100 dB +/- 3dB -...

    3.50 star(s)
Full review thread here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/511217/review-ortofon-hd-q7   The short summary:   A bright amp which pairs well with darker headphones and sources. Low gain, ideal for iems and low impedance cans. Crisp and articulate sound, crystal clear highs and clean defined lows, average mids. Tiny size, solid weight, beautiful design that is miles ahead of most desktop amps in its size/price category. Several input options and dual headphone jacks round out the package.

  14. Sennheiser PX 100-II Supra-Aural Mini Headphones - Black

    4.50 star(s)
I just picked up a pair of PX100-ii today. I've been missing the PX100, and I've been curious how the sequel improves on the first one. First impressions (comparison to original from memory)... Sound: the bass is a tiny bit louder and kicks harder, mids a little more laid back but a bit cleaner, highs the same. Running a frequency sweep, I think the highs on the ii are maybe a bit less wobbly. On fast bass heavy songs, the bass tends to bleed a bit into the mids. Other than that though, it just adds some emphasis to the midbass. Soundstage feels...
