I just bought my first pair of 5998 and was shocked by how much of an improvement they offered over even some pretty good NOS 6080s. Killer tubes. GLWYS!

Yeah, even owning two pairs that have thousands of hours left in them I’m tempted. The liquid sound, bass, and airiness in the right amp makes 6080s (and 7236s) sound brutish in comparison. 😝
