Hey there, I'm looking to trade my Sony MDR-R10s for a pair of Sony Qualia 010s, preferably with the small-sized headband, red ear pads if possible. I'd really love to have the original stand as well.

I understand there's only a tiny fraction of 010 owners out there, but I've dreamed of owning a pair of Sony Qualia 010s since I was a teenager and I feel they'll suit my tastes more than the R10 does.

Actually can be said that the Qualia is rarer compared to R10. In the last 10 years I saw 3/4 R10 on sale every year while I saw maybe 3/4 Qualia 010 in the last ten years.

Rarity does not equal price. Qualia are usually not sold a prices as high as the R10s. Production-wise, Qualia are around 250 in total numbers produced, but they are a divisive pair of headphones whereas the R10s are not as such.

I agree, my point was just about how rare it is. I didn't know they made only 250 unit, amazing.

Yeah, the unique fits and the Qualia stores all went under back around 2008 or so.
Back when Sony was still very much relevant in the early 2000s, they used to have stores in every big cities where one can visit and see their products. They went big with Qualia lineups but had to close all of those stores about two years later. I remember that there was a store in New York and Las Vegas but not sure of the other locations. I sure wish I had bought more Qualia headphones myself. A member here has four sets of Qualia, but he likely won’t sell or trade. He isn’t hurting for money either.
