Don't you mean, "do I dig that girl"?
Eric Burdon & War: "Spill the Wine" 1970

Misheard lyrics - it's "take that pearl" after what seems like the first refrain is "take that girl"

3 versions of what it means are commonly offered:

1. wine was spilled on the mixing board during a recording session - seems to be a way to keep the group in good with the thought police
2. spill the wine and take that pearl is a reference to shooting up heroin - the wine is blood - reference of that era
3. take that pearl is a sexual reference

There is consensus it seems, take whichever suits

I was once out strolling one very hot summer's day
When I thought I'd lay myself down to rest
In a big field of tall grass
I laid there in the sun and felt it caressing my face
As I fell asleep and dreamed
I dreamed I was in a Hollywood movie
And that I was the star of the movie
This really blew my mind
The fact that me, an overfed long haired leaping gnome
Should be the star behind a Hollywood movie, hmm
There I was
I was taken to a place
The hall of the mountain kings
I stood high by the mountain tops
Naked to the world
In front of
Every kind of girl
There was long ones, tall ones, short ones, brown ones
Black ones, round ones, big ones, crazy ones
Out of the middle, came a lady
She whispered in my ear
Something crazy
She said...
Spill the wine, take that pearl
Spill the wine, take that pearl
Spill the wine, take that pearl
Spill the wine, take that pearl
I could feel hot flames of fire roaring at my back
As she disappeared, but soon she returned
In her hand was a bottle of wine
In the other, a glass
She poured some of the wine from the bottle into the glass
And raised it to her lips
And just before she drank it, she said
Take the wine, take that pearl
Spill the wine, take that pearl
Spill the wine, take that pearl
Spill the wine, take that pearl
It's on girl, all you gotta do is spill that wine
Spill that wine, let me feel, let me feel hot, yeah! Yeah!
Spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine
Spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine
Take that pearl!

It was absolutely dumb luck that I found you lol. People had sent me so much bourbon that I wanted to switch to something edible. I had no concept you spent years in Alaska and had knowledge of salmon. :beerchug: Next I should ask for high quality cheeses and see who pops up.

Here's something to drool over until they start shipping again in November: Osceola Cheese. The smoked cheeses are wonderful!

... including stellar places like Il Capriccio in Waltham. ...
That was my soon-to-be-spouse and my favorite restaurant in Boston area.

An Il Capriccio story: My best friend (and soon-to-be best man, R.I.P.) was on medication that prevented him from eating anything "aged."
We told the waiter, expecting to be kicked out, and waited. A few minutes later, the chef came out, told my friend he could order anything he wanted and he'd change
it to meet his dietary restrictions. Together (my friend was a foodie) they discussed each menu item, and how it could be modified.

From then on, we _always_ went to Il Capriccio.

This, in stark contrast to Jasper's, in Boston, where we asked some shellfish to be omitted (allergies) and the server said, "Jasper wouldn't like that." :smiling_imp:

lol get ready for maybe another match or two soon.
Gosh this has been a lot of fun so far...
I ordered a adapter to try 6CG7's in Vali 3, they work w/out an adapter in Vali2+.
Also 6BQ7's work in the Vali 2+.

Love the 12AU7 variants in Vali 3...and look forward to playing!!

Thanks much Tom!

...

I probably sent you a pic of me with a Russian card partner. She is still wicked smart but both of us travel less now and the prize money did not always cover expenses.
Now I have to add spy to your list of accomplishments, what with Russian partners and being able to identify potential threats through fun house reflections :)

• To Valiant Schiitheads, a 'high recommendation' tube for Vali 3 :
• Sylvania 'yellow print, long plate' 12AU7.
• Length of long plates? 17 millimetres.
• Needs 12AU7 --> 5670 adapter (Xuling).

lol no, I just preferred partners with great math skills, a masters from Belarus, and a PHD from Loyola respectively. They were accomplished chess players and well read so we rarely got bored between games. Both are solid citizens here now.

Now I definitely have to check it out. 😁
It's only a 3 hour drive for me. About the same as driving from east Atlanta to west Atlanta. 🤣 🤣
