I like the 80's Decca sound and the silky CBS sound, Teldec is too bassy and muffled. Sony sounds dead in the 80's and Philips dry.
The Brits had the best sound in the 80's for sure: Hyperion, Chandos, Decca, Nimbus...

I like them all; I'd have to go through my collection and compare some examples to each other to pick favorites. It's fairly hard to go wrong with classical production (at least since the 50's) imo.
