Panasonic Viera TC-P65VT30 plasma checking in... ...
I still have mine, TC-P55VT50, which I got in August 2012. It's at my parents' house, where my uncle mainly watches it. I moved away. The TV is going strong. The smart apps on the TV are no long supported.

The apartment building I live in now came furnished with LG Plasma TVs, which according to Wikipedia, stopped production of plasmas back in 2014. They TV worked well, but I changed it out because of getting Xbox X and PS5 and wanting to take advantage of other 4K devices. The nice thing about them having plasmas and not knowing the size or weight limits of the TV mount, I knew I could get a good size TV because new TV (LCD or OLED) weight significantly less. I went from a 42" Plasma to a 50" QLED (Vizeo M Series); I didn't want to spend a lot on TV in a rented apartment.

That Pansonic TV had really good audio for a flat-screen TV. They had speakers that ran the width of the TV and bigger woofers compared to just a few speakers of today's TVs. That's one thing I do miss about CRT TVs, they had way better audio. You didn't need to get a soundbar or something to get decent sound; you did for HT or audiophile experiences.

Do you get any background hissing when using the HA-3A with dynamic driver headphones?
No, I don't. If you hear hissing, I think that probably comes from slightly noisy tubes or unclean power.

Why the book under the DNA amp? Heat issues?
No. It is extra (OCD) damping of the top surface of the CD transport. I'd like to use a sized, dense wood piece for damping 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Never thought of it, but you're right. My 50" Panasonic Viera plasma probably has better sound than my LG C8 OLED.
Speakers in TVs seem to almost be an engineering afterthought these days... they just have to slap them in there for people who aren't immediately going to use a soundbar, headphones, a home theater setup, or their 2 channel system to play sound. I kind of wish they would offer versions of TVs without onboard sound to make them as flat as possible. Obviously this would require companies to make 2 versions of every TV which is far more of an expense than just plopping in their little $10 speakers.
