Liquid Links Cable Discussion Thread

How's the flexibility of Venom? I have an Effect Audio Code23 that I just can't use in bed comfortably due to being so stiff. I'm looking for something that'll be a nice upgrade to my Cadmus 4W and Eros S. I like the Eros S but it has a bit too much cable memory and doesn't lay as flat as I'd like.

So now I'm narrowing down between Liquid Links and Eletech.
Venom - not much but slightly more flexible.
But the most important it's a better sounding cable than C23.

Yeah my biggest issue with Code23 is that when trying to use in bed, the cable is so stiff that IEMs won't stay in my ears if I barely move. Are the models below Venom more flexible?

I am also using IEMs in bed and fortunatelly no such issue with Venom.
It's not as comfy as typical IEM cables but for me the sound quality is worth the effort - great synergy with FIR Xe6.

Venom is incredible! I think it's one of the best looking and sounding cables. I own the Martini and Evua II, but the Evua II is MMCX so I can't really compare it to my other 2 pin cables.
How's the flexibility of Evua II?

Oh thanks! Which do you prefer? 👀
One is 2 pin and one is mmcx so I can’t compare them head to head unfortunately. I prefer the look of the Martini personally.

Received my Liquid Links Venom today.

Initial impressions

Relatively thick gauge, two-wire twist. Sheath has a polyurethane/plastic polymer feel to it. Black with gold sparkles. Pretty. Ergonomically for desktop listening I see no issue. I would not want to kink for fear of stressing the sheathe/cable but I have no issue winding/unwinding the cable. Proprietary 4.4mm cover is larger than I like. Pretty but only fits through my SP3000 leather case cut-out a certain way.

Sonic Impressions

Slightly warm, with a mild bass/mid-bass/low mid emphasis. Lovely impact and richness to this region. It really sings. Upper mids are smooth and musical. Female vocals, piano timbre enjoyable. It's not as sparkly up top as my SPC/Silver-hybrid cables so would suit to modulate IEM's that may be a tad bright or extended that region.

Soundstage is intimate. Think Utopia if you're experienced the headphone. Spherical, technically capable layering and positioning. But closer together in stage and separation.

Conclusion

I like it. That's all that matters. It's a versatile cable that is easy to get along with. There are no glaring sonic weaknesses or unpleasant peaks. And to be honest, if $1000 for a cable doesn't sound illogical to you, I'll argue it's very good value compared to other more expensive options.

I bought the Liquid Links Evua II preowned and it came in yesterday. My first mid-fi cable I bought separately. My other mid-if cable is the UM x PW Audio M1 cable that came my UM Mext. So far I have paired it with the Noble Audio K10, Thieaudio Monarch OG and Noble Audio Tux 5 IEM’s. The Evua II lessened the dynamic driver impact / thump on the Monarch and Tux 5. I have the Yongse Chivalry cable on the Monarch. It brings the mids more forward, something lacking on the OG tuning along with keeping the bass and slightly elevating the treble. I have the Yongse Glory on the Tux 5. That cable punches way above its weight and I really like what it does to the Tux 5. The Evua II wasn’t an upgrade in either case. Then I put the Evua II on the K10. Not a knock and it confirmed the quality of the Yongse cables. Listening to the Evua II / K10 combo is a major wow. More thump on the BA bass. The highs have more sparkly. The soundstage is more open. This is my only all BA set in 2 pin so I am curious with other BA sets. A great pairing.
