I have a pair of Alpha Dog at work and thinking about upgrading my HE-400 to the HE-560 at home. Can you make some comparison between the Alpha Dog and He-560.

Alpha Dogs are warmer overall which compared to the HE-560s it sounds like it has a veil over it (yeah, the HEs are THAT clear...). HE's are airier, have a wider soundstage, imaging and layering is very good (better than the ADs) and the highs are just perfect (whereas sometimes the ADs presentation can be a bit congested). Bass quantity goes to the ADs though (playing my usual bassy tracks and test tracks), both have good speed/decay but the HE's are in another level though. Mids on both are detailed and up-front, enjoy vocals and guitars on both but I feel that the clarity on the HE's make them just better overall.
 
So if you care about a warmer signature with more bass presence, and if the HE400s are providing just that (not sure how similar are the HE400s to the ADs), then stick with it. If you want to try something more, dare I say, tonally balanced and neutral-ish, the 560s are Tops.
