    Burson V7 Classic Pro and V7 Vivid Pro - Hi-Fi audiophile solid-state op-amps

You say this but I’m running two pair of V7 Vivids (over $300 in op-amps) in a pair of Fosi ZA3 mono blocs for my speaker chain ($200 in amps). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -Ed

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More

Okay...this is somewhat confusing. Is it possible to use this without having to have a fixed sample rate for my music? And if so, exactly how is this configured? Do I leave the Fixed Sample Rate plugin disabled, and do I leave the same rate bypass setting in Convolution plugin unchecked? -Ed

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More

Interesting. Well to be honest now I am not sure. Tapping (?) doesn’t really say anything. Someone else in the forum told me that this was cross feed. -Ed

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More

Apparently, this is Crossfeed. I’ve been using it and I do like it: -Ed EDIT: It happens to be unchecked at this moment because I am listening to my speakers today.

    The Reference 6SN7 Thread

While I ordered my Psvanes from Viva Tubes, for the Linlais, I decided to chance it and buy from a seller on Ali Express. This is the specific seller: FEIYUE Electronic Tube Stock Supply Store https://a.aliexpress.com/_mOdcbhy I felt that over 100 previous buyers with a pretty high overall...

My set of quad matched Linlai E-6SN7 tubes finally arrived today and I rolled them in. Just beginning burn-in and I am already preferring them over the set of quad matched Psvane CV181-T MkII tubes that were there for the past couple of months. Although they’re brand new, I am, first and...

In Case You Need to Power a DAP/Phone, and a Dongle DAC/Amp All While on the Go…

Modern problems call for modern solutions, right? Well I’ve had a curiously difficult time finding the right cables/products need to: Allow a DAP or phone to feed digital audio via USB to a separate, USB/OTG-powered DAC while still charging/keeping the phone/DAP charged. Well as it turns out you...

THE WATERCOOLER HEADPHONE EDITION – Headphones, Amps, DACs, and desktop/home audio related – a freewheeling discussion of gear, impressions, music, and musings.

Just picked up one of these little toys to pay with, Little Bear B-4X balanced portable tube amplifier. Rolled some MUSES02 op-amps that I had laying around into it. Listened last night using my new cans, a pair of Monolith M1070C closed back planar magnetic headphones. Quite nice synergy...

Cayin RU7: 1-Bit Resistor Network Dongle DAC /Amp

Are you using All to 256? Try All to 128 or even 64; the lower resolution settings draw less power. The issue is primarily with iPhones that have Lightning ports—they don’t give enough juice. 15th generation iPhones and DAPs that use USB-C ports are okay with any setting. -Ed

Introducing the xDuoo TA-66 OTL Tube Amplifier - Now Available on Apos Audio

I saw the specification as 50ohms minimum for TA-66. Cannot remember where. That is why I decided to give the M1070C a try, as I figured I would test the limits of that specification out. -Ed

Introducing the xDuoo TA-66 OTL Tube Amplifier - Now Available on Apos Audio

Listening to the M1070C now with TA-66 using stock cables and I must admit the experience is fantastic. Even though these are closed-back, I feel imaging is superior to my HD 6XX. Sound is just more spacious, not so inside my head feeling. There does not appear to be a compatibility issue...

Cayin RU7: 1-Bit Resistor Network Dongle DAC /Amp

Probably not. The converter just throws away the negative signal on each side, which then makes it like any other single-ended signal. -Ed

    Burson V7 Classic Pro and V7 Vivid Pro - Hi-Fi audiophile solid-state op-amps

@aurorafps Funny you mention that, as I just ordered one of those Little Bears, but I have some spare MUSES02s laying around so thinking just using that. I have V7 Vivids in my Fosi ZA3s right now that I plan to roll over into my V3 Monos when they arrive. -Ed

Introducing the xDuoo TA-66 OTL Tube Amplifier - Now Available on Apos Audio

I just ordered a new pair of cans, Monolith M1070C. It is 60ohms impedance, so we shall see how it holds up with TA-66, although my intention is primarily to listen to HD 6XX with my TA-66, it is still fun to play with it. The tubes and the TA-66 are burning in nicely and I am noticing that the...

Thanks! Yes, it was originally my interest in Apos Ray Reserve tubes that led me to buy the Psvane CV181-T MkII tubes that I am running now because so many people said that they are basically the same tube except Apos’ are just hand-picked top grade pieces. We’ll see how the LinLai E-6SN7...

    The Reference 6SN7 Thread

Thanks! I ended up ordering a quad set of LinLai E-6SN7 tubes to compare against the Psvane CV181-T MkII. My reasoning is that if the ShuGuang WE6SN7 Plus sound very similar to the Psvanes that I already have, it would not be worth the cost to acquire for more of almost the same. With the...

    Musician Draco R2R DAC

If I had to sum up the Musician Draco in as few words as possible, you’re trading away an OS slow/fast decay filter option from the Denafrips Enyo/Ares II to get I2S input. Their sound signatures are quite similar, close enough where it is difficult for many to say they absolutely prefer the...

Between the Psvane CV181-T MkII and the ShuGuang WE6SN7 Plus, do you have a preference between them? Any specific differences at all in their sound? Or better said: since I already have the CV181-T MkII in my amp, should I even bother with the WE6SN7 Plus? Keep in mind that unfortunately for me...

    Gustard U18

The best way to know for sure is to listen for yourself on both connection methods and decide which you prefer. For me, I2S did sound better than coax. I also found AES/EBU sounded better than coax. -Ed
