I was on the fence about the S2s. Until my iBasso DX170 arrived today. What a game changer. Was running it off the Topping DX3 before. But running it balanced on the DX170, the midrange veil has now been lifted. The soundstage has opened up. Much more detail and clarity. Better separation. Still...

Very impressive imaging imo, they’re the most speaker like headphones I have heard. Because of this detail is quite good, but they are definitely more fun than natural sounding. Would still love some more low end texture rather than rumble.

Nope, just the “660S” above the earcups (assuming you mean the outward part of the headband) Also it wasn’t top end grain that bothered me as much as the extremely muffled mids. Anyhow, I have made my peace with the 660S not being for me but am quite intrigued by the S2’s potential
