Peerless 50mm driver ATH-AD900 mod
Pictures: https://imgur.com/a/IjXPblV
Asking: SOLD 165 USD shipped and PayPal'd within US. Ships from MN. Just thought I mention that I'm already losing with my asking price.
So why these drivers? Cheap and they sound good if you know what you're doing.
I've modded with these 50mm Peerless drivers with the AD700 (sold a while back) before but the front baffle is much better acoustically for these drivers, having less of an angle for a more even treble response. I've tweaked these slightly differently to the AD700 mod for a more warmer sound. These are using Dekoni Elite Velour Beyerdynamic/Hifiman pads. They're much more open sounding compared to my AD700 mod. I much prefer this mod and this chassis since there's no creaking anywhere. This particular AD900 was made in Japan - I'm not sure if production was ever moved elsewhere for this model but just thought I'd mention that. For a long time, I debated whether or not I should put these up but I'd like to fund other home projects and I'm mostly using my MDR-MA900 since it's been so hot.
As for the specifics of the mod without revealing too much, the drivers are attached via blu-tack. Easy to replicate and use while getting the job done. The have a mesh grill that's tacked onto the front with blu-tack covered with a cut-out fabric from another earpad. I've changed the baffle paper and dampen the bass a bit with a cut-out in the rear port of the driver. I formed a stick of blu-tack into a ring and put it on the magnet behind the driver - I found it to have the soundstage be less diffuse and more cohesive sounding. I've also made it detachable, using 3.5mm cables.
I use my own custom cable but it won't be included (since it's one of my few good 3.5mm straight cable), but I can solder a 3.5mm plug to the stock cable so that it can be used if asked. I would recommend using another cable.
I don't see any cosmetic imperfections on this unit besides dust on the pads.
Measurements:
Note: This was made on a MiniDSP EARS with HPN compensation applied. The MiniDSP EARS is not an industry standard rig and should only be compared to other measurements made on the MiniDSP EARS. The EARS is known in showing artifacts around the 4-6 kHz region where it would show huge dips and peaks that may not be there or be as drastic as it seems.
Against my previous mod (red). Matched at 400 Hz.
Against the HD600 (red). Matched at 400 Hz.

Shure SRH840 with SRH940
Pictures: https://imgur.com/a/h24oNwX
Asking: 90 USD shipped and PayPal'd within US. Ships from MN.
I got this particular pair new from a Guitar Center a couple of months ago. I lost the box along with the receipt soo.. yeah.. I won't be able to include those. They sound a lot more neutral with the 940 pads (measurement comparison in Imgur link). I will have to dig out the stock SRH840 pads in my pile of pads later tonight. I quite like them after EQ'ing. I don't use these as much as I'd like though so they're up for sale.
Includes the headphones and the stock cable. I will try to find the stock pads later tonight.
*There is a little mark on the left earcup from pulling out the cable (seen in 3rd pic). Only really noticeable in the right lighting, but otherwise in excellent condition.
As a note, I think the newest SRH840 have updated pads because this pair measured way different than what I expected after seeing measurements from Crinacle and Innerfidelity. This pair measures much warmer with a dip in the upper midrange whereas both pairs measured by Crinacle and Tyll look more neutral. I have old stock pads from way back then and they are slightly thinner and look a bit different. Just to let you know beforehand.

Matched at 1 kHz.

From a smoke-less and pet-less home. Will wipe down before shipping. Let me know if you have any questions about the headphones!
