Hiya, had two perfectly working HE500 drivers that came with a semi-dead headband a while back, recently transplanted them into a BNIB HE-35X(using Cardas quad-eutectic solder) and here ya go.
35X is a 350 with reinforced yokes, comfort is as good as it gets(same headband as HE560/400i) and farewell to those nasty SMC connectors that always like to unscrew out of the blue.
The old corroded wiring and horrid SMC connectors(SMC was only designed to transport coax) make way for brand new OFC-wired 3.5mm jacks that sound heaps clearer and drivers are now sandwiched between a metal donut and a thick rubber donut(as opposed to stock hollow cups), so HE500 gets one hell of a rejuvenating treatment with much clearer trebles and focused stereo imaging over stock
Will come with brand new unused earpads, box & cable, mostly boiling down to a supercharged 560
Female vocals sound amazing, fairly easy to drive, holographic SS, loudspeakers-presentation, hype is very real but time for a change.
I've always had the headband protected by a freezing bag and you'll get brand new unused stock Focus earpads as I was using another pair, you'll also get a brand new unused 3.5mm cable + 6.35 adapter & HE500 user manual. I did rub off the drop/Hifiman logos as I found them pretty ugly and unworthy of HE500 drivers.
Would fancy trade for another planar, I'm cool with broken headbands.
Oval Hifiman's might be of interest as well and a proper headamp to fuel HE6 might also be a winner.
Would be easier to keep this in the EU but I do have an address in the US and can ship EMS.
It's a rare occasion to hop on the HE500 boat and w/o those horrid headband, SMC connectors and earpads tabs that let angled earpads rotate freely.
