Here I am selling this superb D3A headamp made by @itsikhefez

I wish I could keep this as part of my collection but other things are screaming to me, not letting this go easily. Willing to negotiate and anyone is welcome to come test it out if in the Philadelphia area.

This guy is spec'd out to the max, feels like a true piece of art. See original listing here

Amp footprint is 12" x 8" x 2.75"

Parts list (taken from original listing):
* Custom powder-coated aluminum chassis in Air Force Blue.
* Sowter 8655 mumetal output transformers.
* Switchable HiZ / LoZ (Tocos silver-plated 4DPT switch)
* Furutech RCA inputs
* TKD 2CP-2511 volume potentiometer
* Mundorf EVO 4.7uF output caps
* CLC power supply with Hammond 157H 10H choke (220uF caps)
* NOS Cinch ceramic sockets

Power: I have been using this amp at my desk for the past 4 months or so with both dynamic and planar cans. I think that this amp best suits low impedance headphones both dynamic and planar. It can drive high impedance cans just as efficiently but when in HiZ, there is added distortion that either makes or breaks its synergy with the headphone. Running a high impedance headphone in LoZ causes a slight high frequency roll off but in trade for more refined sound. HiZ should only be used if you need the power for low efficiency cans or if you want the extra distortion + power with any headphone type. Zero hiss or anomalies in the signal. Dead quiet throughout twice the usable volume range.

My understanding on the power numbers:
In LoZ: 1.06W @32ohm, 113mW @300ohm
In HiZ: 4.24W @32ohm, 453mW @300ohm

Sound: Clean, clear, high fluidity, energetic sound. Flat frequency response with excellent instrument separation. The last tube amp I heard was a Bottlehead Crack and this amp is easily more resolving while lacking the extreme wetness the of the BHC. What shines through the most with this amp is the intimacy of the entire presentation and the superb preproduction of all instruments, high hats/cymbals especially. The strengths and weaknesses of every headphone will put on display with this amp. Extreme refinement, if your headphones are worthy.

Pairing: While this is not a aggressive amp or one with big tonality changes, it is a super revealing amp. Do not expect a relaxing sound unless you have a relaxed chain already. I believe that this amp is a great tool to see deep into the music to get the utmost pleasure from a recording. My favorite pairing with this was with my LCD-2 while listening to brass ensemble and orchestral sound tracks. Hard to say what exactly pairs the best with this amp, since everyone's chains are so very dissimilar. I can only imagine just how insane this would sound with ultra high end gear like Tungsten or ZMF.
