Recently I purchased a new set of cables for my HEK V1's to use with my ZMF Pendant which is 1/4 output only. The stock cable I'm using uses the three tip cable like this Silver Dragon to XLR:

The stock cable looks like the following (two ring tip TRS with a 1/4 output jack)

The cables I purchased seemed to be the right type (2.5mm) but only has a single ring which usually indicates mono on both sides (TS I believe it's called) going to a TRS 1/4 jack. So what I believe ended up is I got a 1/4 male TRS to dual mono TS connectors.

Not sure if this was used with older HE400's or something. Now when switching my headphones back to the stock cable they sound 'tinny' and very quiet. Did inserting these cables and playing music through them mess up some of the internal wiring in the headphones? These cans are out of warranty and discontinued so any help fixing the sound would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Yea turns out I was using the wrong output on this tube amp I use for my RCA cables and there is some minor crossfeed between both channels so I had it plugged into the adjacent channel instead of the one the RCA cables were going directly into.
