Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

I use graphic or parametric EQ on my various Mac players to minimise the disturbing peak.
What EQ do you use? I know you have some AU plugin, but what app does it work with? I haven't been able to figure it out.

Hello...I listen to a lot of classical music and piano jazz (Keith Jarrett, Pollini, Ashkenazy, Trifonov, etc.). Which headphones , Only Beyerdynamic or Philips (max 600$) do you recommend?
I'm thinking you'd be better off with some of Beyer's warmer headphones. Amiron Home or the T1

I sniped a 2nd handed dt1990 in great condition. Only swapped to the amiron wireless dust protector and using the balanced pads. Excellent value for what you pay nowadays. The build quality is outstanding, same for comfort and overall sound quality. You can turn it into a treble monster in order to master or a balanced audiophile pleasure device by swapping pads and dust covers.
A great chameleon!

Dt 1990 pro or Amiron Home? T1 1gen, 2gen or 3?
This is the problem....
1990 is really energetic, the balanced pads kinda raise the mids up but IMO they get muffled as opposed to warm. The Amiron is warm and detailed but more energetic like the 1990. Jazz and classical, acoustic stuff sounds great on the amiron

I had the Amiron in-house for two weeks and returned it. A friend has the T1-Gen3. I am not a fan of the Beyerdynamic "consumer" sound profile, as found in the T1-3 and Amiron. I much prefer the harder hitting DT 1990 sound, and only with Analytical pads.

DT 1990 PRO - now tested alternating analytical pads versus balanced pads (as quickly as I could change if I only have one pad clamping ring on the headphones, it's not always that easy, sometimes bounces out of the groove. I also need to practise threading them at the beginning).

Listened to a few pieces of music. Quintessence, I like the music playback with analytic pads a little better, especially female voices sound more natural and not bloated in the lower range.

As I am also considering buying the Amiron Home, I would probably not be entirely satisfied with it if I compare the frequency responses of the DT 1990 PRO analytic pads, DT 1990 PRO balanced pads and Amiron Home (measured values from solderdude, Oratory1990). Amiron Home shows an even larger ‘hump’ between 100 and 500 Hz, deviating strongly from the Harmon Target there. This makes the lower frequencies in vocals stand out unnaturally.

EQ was set to flat during the test.

What do you think about?

PS: I post this in DTT1990 & Amiron Home thread.

Having owned the Amiron and still using the 1990s daily. If you want a warmer, easier to listen to headphones grab something like an HD 650 or 660s over the Amiron. The Amiron manage to be warm and muddied at times while also being hot to listen to, my opinion of course. HD 6XX series is more balanced in that regard.

@Xerosnake90
I also have the Neumann NDH 30 or Sennheiser HD 490 PRO in mind.

These headphones should round off my small collection (see signature) at the bottom.
