Going to pull the trigger on some replacements ones by 4pm so that I get them tomorrow.

They'll be used with a Kenwood HD10GB7. I'm after excellent isolation and musicality.

Shortlist is:

Atrio M5
Super.Fi 5 pros
Ety ER4P
q-jays
Klipsch Custom 2

Any final words of wisdom given the deadline?

Atrio M5. Heard so many good reviews about them and I believe they don't stick out like super fi.

I have not heard any of these, so take this with a grain of salt...but from reading various posts/reviews on these I would go with the ER4P if you are looking for a more detailed sound, or the Atrio M5 if you prefer a warmer presentation. Good luck-

Super.Fi 5 Pros. Had some good advice from a specialist retailer and they seemed to be the best compromise. He said the Atrio and Westone were brilliant for live and session music but on balance the sound for mp3 was better all round with the 5s.

Can't agree with your 'specialist retailer'. There really isn't any area that the Super.fi 5 Pro's excel in, compared to the Atrio M5's. Plus the overly stiff cable of the SF5P is quite annoying (you'd have to replace it with an ES2 cable, which is another $40). See if you can exchange your SF5Pro for the Atrio M5, or order the M5 as well, and return the one you like the least.

Personally mate, I'd have spent an extra £25 and got the triple.fi's from Amazon.co.uk, the extra money is well worth it, just look at the various reviews around here.

As for the sticking out problem, look at this mod, it does work well with them - Ultimate Ears - super.fi MOD

well this is not really helpful, but, seeing as the poster above me did it and bearing in mind the order has just happened with u having a chance perhaps to cancel and reorde, I would deffo reccoment the ety's but the er4s if going amped (however, u could also get the er4p and then get the adapter cable with 75hm resistance effectively turning he 4p into the 4s)

the ety's are the kings of clarity and resolution, some people say low on bass, but I listn to tranc, hardcore andhouse using the foam tips WITH a good seal and the bass kicks.

I know this is just another opinion in a sea f opinions but ety's are absolutely worldclass iem's, and it says everything that again, imo, the k701's in so far as they have a nice airy, resolved and accurate sound are the headphone equivalent of the ety iem.

In the end those would have been another £55, so the 5s were not a bad deal... for the UK!

I might still try out some others for a comparison - I've was waiting on a couple of other deals. A slipper slope for the wallet, but what fun

You could always send them back in 7 days I think, under the distance selling rules mate, if you did decide to just go in at the deep end.
