I'm getting a high pitched beep at random times whenever I play anything. I've fiddled with various playback settings to no avail any thoughts?

I'm using an 0404 by the by, in case that has any bearing.

Sure does...I was just about to write that it only happens with ASIO when I got two more beeps with Direct Sound :p.

EDIT: The 0404 is modded by the by. Just now as I was listening for beeps in direct sound and it stopped playing altogether. Had to restart foobar.

Driver: 5.12.01.1022
PatchMix: 1.71.00

I just did a windows reinstall and the beeping is still there, I'm starting to think it's a hardware problem.

I do have the same high pitched beeps ramdomly. I do have a Revolution 7.1. I thought it was because of the player (Foobar) but later I switch to Media Center 11 and the beeps are still there. If someone knows a solution, please let us know. Thanks.

I just set the speed of my agp video card to 8x instead of auto (via BIOS) and I don’t hear the beeps yet. Let's wait. In one week of listening we should know what fix the problem (either move to another pci slot, increase the speed of the video board or none of the above). Thanks.
