E-MU 1212m impressions. First time I heard it.

I heard the EMU for the first time yesterday at a friends place. It sounded excellent. The instruments sounded quite realistic and midrange was sweet. Very very nice top end while I cant say that about the bottom too. But it could have been the speakers too. For its price its an excellent source I guess. Yet it still is quite behind vinyl.

I got the Emu 0404 two day ago and it ROCKS! It is a relevation to my ears. Its good to hear you liked the 1212.
EDIT: funny you dont like the bass that much. I love mine. [I guess its because we're coming from different ends of the gear spectrum]

not really. i currenlty have HD600s just like you.

and as i said i listened to the EMU with a speaker system it could be due to them that the bass was not the way i like it.

Actually, with this source/amp combo, I'm getting a real kick out of rock! Veil, shmeil. I actually meant different ends of the spectrum sourcewise. This is my first halfway-decent source. You have those TT's.

Its often said the 0404 has a fatter bottom end than the 1212.

feanor the card was not mine.

I do have a good source and its an analog one indeed. I only use one TT the Pro-ject RPM-9.

) since a gooddeal with a Dynahi came up and i am kind of curious about it.
